Sustainable development as a key strategy to solve problem of brown coal mining in the Sokolov region

Bachelor's thesis describes the concept of sustainable development in theory and practice, practice focuses on the region of Sokolov and its specifics. The goal is to determine how the Sokolov region through the strategy of sustainable development is facing the impacts of the mining of brown coal. It analyzes in particular the impact of mining activities in the region and using the concept of sustainable development is looking for possible solutions and recommendations for its development. Main benefits of this work is a case study in which, through a questionnaire survey collected the views of local actors in different areas of sustainable development. The regional analysis and research findings underlying final recommendations for the future development of the region.
