Comparison of usual and energy approaches for assessments of fatigue lives
Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Balda, Miroslav
The contribution deals with seeking of links between fatigue lives of parts under harmonic and random loadings. Two different approaches are compared. The first starts from assumption of equal times to failure under equal standard deviations of both processes. The second approach is based on equality of energy amounts spent by both processes to failure.
Influence of spectral properties of combined random loading on fatigue life
Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Balda, Miroslav
The contribution deals with an influence of power spectral densities of random loading processes on fatigue lives of structures. Experimental results of uniaxial loading are presented. A philosophy of multiaxial tests, which will be carried out in the new grant project, is also discussed. It is expected that a new numerical method for prediction of fatigue lives of structures loaded by random processes with known spectral densities will be developed.
A new way of estimation of fatigue life under random stress
Balda, Miroslav
The contribution deals with a new way of evaluating fatigue lives of parts exposed to a combined random loading. It unifies results of fatigue tests gained by uniaxial, multiaxial, harmonic and random loading into a single form in non=dimensional parameters.
Using hypotheses for calculating fatigue lives of parts exposed to combined random loads
Balda, Miroslav ; Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Fróhlich, Vladislav
The contribution deals with a complicated problem of fatigue damage of structure parts, which are loaded by a combination of random forces in tension-pressure and moments in torque. An attempt for estimating the total damage is made. It is basedon an application of a virtual damaging stress. The damage is evaluated by meansof the hypothesesof Palmgren-Miner and Corten-Dolan, which are appliedto a rain -flow-like sequence of a resulting stress.
A proposal of methology for the estimation of durability of structures exposed to random loading
Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Balda, Miroslav
The paper describes results of fatigue tests, which have been carried out, on flat specimens with the notch in form of a hole in the middle. Specimens were loaded with three types of random blocks of 20 minutes duration. They mutually differed in a form of the power spectral density (PSD). All the PSDs were of linear form e.g. constant(white noise), linearly increasing and linearly decreasing in the frequency range 0-10Hz. Damage was measured and the method for estimation of live has been proposed.
The influence of power spectral density on the crack propagation by the random loading
Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Mazanec, Jiří
The study of fatigue properties of the steel E460 proved that the form of the power spectral density influences the durability of test specimens stressed with a wideband random loading.
The influence of power spectral density on durability of the constructions under random loading
Svoboda, Jaroslav ; Václavík, Martin ; Balda, Miroslav
Paper follows the effect of power spectral density shape on fatigue life of three random wide-band processes with Gaussian amplitude distribution and frequency range 0-10 Hz. Compared are three modes: constant - white noise, linearly increasing and linearly decreasing.
