Experiencing of schizophrenia and staying atdepartment of psychiatry

A theme of this bachelor thesis is a subjective experience of psychosis and stay at department of psychiatry. The aim of this thesis is to provide a view into psychosis from patients' prism as well as an effort to map their experiences in a certain way by searching for common features. A theoretical part of the thesis outlines a concept of psychosis or more precisely mainly a concept of schizophrenia from several points of view - psychiatric, psychological theories of S. Freud and C. G. Jung, socially developmental, cognitive, constructivist and also alternative point of view. It also briefly deals with issues concerning experience with regard to pathology of psychosis and options of its treatment. An empirical part of the thesis which is based on the author's personal research created using a grounded theory describes experiences of five respondents from psychiatric ward and also experiencing of psychosis focusing on a psychotic episode. The questions in the research are also focused on reasons of hospitalization, individuals' understanding of a situation, influence of psychosis on other people, contribution or disfavour of hospitalization or treatment. This bachelor thesis deals with a subjective experiencing of four respondents at acute stage of paranoid schizophrenia and their satisfaction with a treatment and content of time during hospitalization at one of the departments of psychiatry in the Bohnice hospital. It was found out that patients were most satisfied with a care of department's staff. However, a moderate criticism of different departments appeared as well. It was especially criticism of departments with restricted access. As far as experiencing the acute stage of the disorder is concerned, various existential problems, fears, chaotic and odd thinking as well as problems concerning relationships with close people appeared to be related to the disorder itself. The contribution of the thesis is that it points out a possibility of better integration of patients into a cooperation during the treatment through their own understanding of their disease and understanding of their experience. The first part of the thesis defines a concept of schizophrenia from different theoretical points of view which complement one another rather than being in opposition. Problematics of an alcohol addicted patient at the psychiatric department of the general hospital

This bachelor thesis deals with the problem of alcohol dependence and nursing care provided to patients with this dependence in the Psychiatric Ward of General Hospitals. The theoretical part of this thesis is devoted to the concept of addiction, alcoholism and the impact of alcoholism on health. Then there are desribed types of treatment of alcohol dependence and specifics of nursing care of patients with alcohol dependence in Psychiatric Ward. In the empirical part of this thesis the research goal was set: to map the issue of providing nursing care for alcohol-dependent patient in Psychiatric Ward. Based on this research goal, research questions were prepared: What role do nurses play in nursing care for alcohol-dependent patients during hospitalization in a Psychiatric Ward and what is the difficulty of providing nursing to alcohol-dependent patients. Qualitative research was used to achieve a set goal. Data were collected using semi-structured interviews. The research sample consisted of 16 nurses working in the psychiatric ward of General Hospitals. The obtained information was then processed by open coding, using the pencil-paper method. The results of the research show that the issue of providing nursing care for alcohol-dependent patients depends on the current state of the patient, previous attempts to treat addiction or many other factors. The role of nurses has its specifics and has an integral part in the treatment of alcohol dependence. The difficulty of providing nursing care can be influenced by the frequency of encountering alcohol addicts, the length of their hospitalization or the occurrence of agitation and aggression.

Sister and aggressive client

Sister and aggressive client This work deals with the knowledge and skills of nurses to work with aggressive client. In today's time, when it is known increase in violence is increasing, and the number of attacks on medical personnel. This should be properly trained and ready to work with aggressive client. The theoretical part of my bachelor thesis, would be divided into two parts. In the first part, I explore the aggression as such, where define the concept of aggressiveness and dedicate the aggressiveness in the health care facilities and, of course, and its prevention. The second part is devoted to the General's sister and intervene on the sisters with aggressive client. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to find out the knowledge of nurses to work with aggressive client. Research was carried out in the form of interviews, which was performed with sisters to the psychiatric wards of the hospital Tábor and Hospital České Budějovice. 2 research questions were identified: Research question number 1: What is the professional preparation of nurses to meet aggressive client? From the replies show that nurses assess this as an average. Welcomed the priority to the larger quantity of seminars dealing with this issue. Research question number 2: What knowledge they have sisters working with aggressive client? Sisters from the research file demonstrate the knowledge in the field of communication, which stated the basic rules in communication with aggressive client. Largely known as a specific nursing care on psychiatry and nursing care in the use of restrictive measures. On the basis of the results was created a brochure, which can be used not only to the sisters, but also students of all medical disciplines. Provides basic information about the aggressive behavior, advice, how to prevent and finally as the principles of communication with aggressive client (annex 3).
People´s insolvency from the point of view of aid professions in psychiatric department

The thesis is focused on the people´s in-debting nowadays. Theoretical part deals with insolvency, overdebt, debt trap and their basic causes and consequences. Moreover it describes social work with insolvent people and it briefly defines social work in health service. Practical part surveys situation concerning hospitalization of indebted people in psychiatric department. The aim of the thesis is to find out if insolvent people are hospitalized in psychiatric department in the Czech Rep. and to survey the circumstances of their hospitalization (from the point of view of aid professions). Partial aim is to find out what kinds of medical treatment are provided to indebted people and if the treatment involves social work.
Burnout syndrome at the nurses

The bachelor thesis deals with a definition of the burnout syndrome, its symptoms and prevention. Further, its aim is to present a relationship between the burnout syndome and personality characteristics of nurses. In the empirical part, the thesis attempts to register differences in the rate of burnout at nurses who work in a psychiatry ward and their comparison with nurses who work in other wards. At the end, the thesis tries to explain found differences .
