Study of Allelopathic Effects of Common Millet on Other Plants
NWAJEI, Lucky
Proso millet (Panicum miliaceum) is an important source of energy and protein for people and as well animals. At present, there are practically no data available on the allelopathic effect of proso millet. The aim of the work was to evaluate the alle-lopathic effects of common millet on selected crops and to suggest the possibility of using the acquired knowledge. Laboratory experiments included evaluation of the effect of extracts from plant parts of millet and millet seeds on seed germina-tion and growth of selected plant species, as well as evaluation of autotoxicity of millet extracts, evaluation of the effect of different densities of millet seeds on allelopathic activity and stability of millet allelochemicals. The most effective extract inhibiting the growth of selected plants was the extract from young millet plants. However, millet allelochemicals do not seem to be suitable for weed control due to their low stability.
The yield parameters and weed infestation of proso millet in the
DVOŘÁK, Vojtěch
Systems of intercropping represent one of the ways of biotic intensification in plant production. The aim of the work was to determine the effect of false flax (Camelina sativa) as the intercropped with millet (Panicium millet) on the occurrence of weeds in the stand and to determine the optimal density of false flax from the point of view of achieving a high yield of millet grain. The fallow was sown in the millet stand at densities of 100, 150, 200 and 250 plants/m2 in two sowing dates, and the weeding of the stand, the beginning of millet flowering, the height of the plants, the yield of fresh biomass and the yield of millet grain were monitored. On the basis of the obta-ined results, false flax can be recommended for intercroping with common millet.
Detekce anomálií v datech výzkumu PROSO
Šormová, Hana
The thesis deals with algorithms for detecting anomalies in the data collected by the Problem Solving Tutor research. In the theoretical part, the author introduces the term of anomaly, the ideas of the PROSO research and a detailed overview of existing algorithms to detect anomalies. In the practical part, selected algorithms are implemented. Real outputs and results as well as recommendations to a user are presented in this part, and the chapter is supplemented by a number of graphs. The implemented algorithms are also compared to existing data mining software. An example of working with the data mining tools, applied to the data coming from PROSO, and explanation of their outputs is also part of the thesis. In the summary, the appropriate methodology for behavior analysis and anomaly detection is determinied.
Prospects of the cultivation and the use of sorghum and millet in the Czech Republic
TROJÁKOVÁ, Gabriela
The aim of this work was a summary of the cultivation knowledge and the use of the possibilities of sorghum and millet in the Czech Republic. Botanical characteristics, requirements for enviroment, plant care during the vegetation millet and sorghum. Harvest and post-harvest treatment of plants and their use for food, industrial and fodder purposes. Millet is a modest yielding crop bringing a good viable, expanding food crop and variety for processing industry. Sorghum enriches crop rotation to maintain soil fertility and is an interesting alternative to corn silage on the arable land in the Czech Republic.
