Project Support for Regional Development

This bachelor thesis summarizes the basic theoretical knowledge in the field of the regional development. The first part, theoretical summary, deals with the definition of basic concepts and introduction to the issue of regional development, both from the perspective of the Czech Republic and the view of the European Union. The main principles, objectives and tools of regional development are defined. The part of the thesis contains the characteristic of the European structural and investment funds. In addition, the thesis focuses on the analysis of the grant opportunities provided by the EU. It also focuses on municipal budgets which constitutes their income, expenses. The second practical part of the text focuses on the analysis of the EU 2004-2020 structural funds and their contribution to the development of the regions in Czech Republic. This part of the thesis also represents the main strategic documents that are crucial for the development of regional policy in the Czech Republic.
Possibilities of Drawing Subsidies from the EU and Use of Funds in the Ústí nad Labem Region

This work deals with analyzing the use of EU funds during the individual programming periods and elaborates an evaluation of their effectiveness with respect to the set indicators in the operational programs of the Ústí nad Labem Region and specifically the towns of Louny. The thesis uses historical analytical methods, logical methods and comparative methods using statistical data analysis. It also deals with the description of the utilization of subsidies from the subsidy programs of the town of Louny and the success of these subsidy programs. The aim of the work is to evaluate the current state and success of the subsidy processes of the city of Louny, and to propose possible improvements and insights into the issue of grant cases occurring in the Ústí nad Labem Region.
The regional policy in eastern enlargement context

The bachelor thesis "The regional policy in eastern enlargement context" is primarily dealing with development of regional policy from enlargement point of view. The main focus is on the greatest enlargement of EU history -- the eastern enlargement. The aim of the thesis is to examine the changes which were implemented in regional policy due to the eastern enlargement. The first part refers to the development of the policy EU from early years. Afterwards, the thesis is focused on aspects of eastern enlargement, in other words examines changes of aims of regional policy, change of redistribution of financial resources, new challenges after enlargement, and the main developing trends in summary. The last part is focused on Poland as one of the eastern enlargement state. It examines the attitude to the regional policy and its implementation from the state point of view.

The graduation theses on Structural funds provides an overview of structural funds in its theoretical part, clarifies scope of the European Union regional policy, as well as objectives and instruments for the programming periods 2000 {--} 2006, 2007 {--} 2013.A chapter devoted specifically to the Czech Republic and the EU funds is included, as well as the chapter on ``How to acquire a grant?{\crq}q The main part of the theses elaborates themes on the European social fund and on operating programs for both programming periods.
