MĚDÍLKOVÁ, Helena
This thesis deals with the issue of the burn-out syndrome of social services workers and its prevention. The goal was to find out how these workers perceive the burn-out syndrome and what prevention they themselves consider to be effective. The thesis has a theoretical and an empirical part. The first chapter of the theoretical part defines the burn-out syndrome, its phases, symptoms and risk factors. The second chapter of the theoretical part focuses on prevention of the burn-out syndrome. The next part deals with social services, it specifies who can perform the job of a social services worker and describes the job of a personal assistant. The practical part defines the goal of the thesis and the main research question, namely "How do social services workers perceive the burn-out syndrome and what prevention do they consider to be effective?" The following text describes the method used, the target group and the course of the research which had the form of qualitative research using semi-structured interviews. The respondents were selected from the non-profit organisation Hewerz.s.using the intentional selection method. Based on the selected methodology, the criteria for the selection of respondents were their willingness to take part in the research and at least one year of employment at Hewerz.s. The empirical part of the submitted bachelor's thesis analyses and interprets the knowledge obtained from the interviews with the social services workers from Hewerz.s. The conclusion of the thesis sums up the findings and answers the main research question.
