In the first chapter of the theoretical part we will learn about the field of social work, what social work is, what it can be beneficial for, but also about its not quite positively evaluated properties. The quantitative research strategy was used to achieve the goal of the work and data collection was conducted by questioning based on a own questionnaire. The research sample consisted of the inhabitants of Havlíčkův Brod. In total, I received questionnaires from 314 respondents. The data were processed using descriptive statistics in program MS Excel and hypothesis were evaluated in the program SPSS, using t-test and correlation. The research results of this bachelor thesis could serve as a source of information on the quality of social work for the public. The problem is very low prestige of social work in the Czech Republic. People do not realize that even a social worker is important in their lives, such as in old age, unemployment, etc. I consider it desirable to improve awareness of the overall scope of social work. To which social workers will be able to contribute by presenting themselves well in order to increase their prestige.
