Soldierly curate of Czech republic army and social work
PARAŠÍNOVÁ, Jaroslava
In this Bachelor thesis, we enquire into Military Chaplaincy in the Army of the Czech Republic (ACR). We ask ourselves whether chaplains, within the scope of their activities, also carry out social work. First, we discuss helping what is it and why, in fact, we help others. Second, we present some possible definitions of social work. We describe in detail the position and tasks of military chaplaincy in the ACR. We have mapped the essential prerequisites of service of a military chaplain. Not every applicant is a suitable candidate, whether it be in terms of physical, mental, or professional competency. The thesis includes interviews conducted with ACR chaplains. We have met the stated objective of the Bachelor thesis through the analysis of these interviews and the Social Services Act. Background information was obtained from academic publications and Internet resources. Detailed information on chaplains' practice was gained from personal communication, based on the interviews conducted.
