Analysis of the situation on the insurance market in the Czech Republic in non-life insurance with a focus on motor insurance

In the early 90. of the last century, there were significant changes in the area of the insurance in the Czech Republic. A state insurance monopoly has finished and many new laws were adopted. The thesis introduces a set of basic information about the insurance market, current legislative arrangements and various kinds of insurance. The thesis is mainly focused on insurance of motor vehicles. In detail I deal with the liability insurance of vehicles, the so-called obligatory liability where there has been a major change. The work includes the characteristics of this insurance, its importance and types of insured risks. It explains how the pricing of vehicle liability insurance in relation to previous claims performance and other criteria. The specific example is illustrated to what level these criteria can affect the final amount of the premium for the same vehicle among several insurance companies. My contribution to this area is added to the thesis in the form of my notes and recommendations. The paper also deals with insurance carriers of international road shows and the negative phenomenom, which are insurance fraud.
