Lyrical Mode of Existencial Selfreflection of Poetry in the Thierties and the Forties of 20th century.

This bachelor work studies and focuses on the lyric depicting of existential selfreflection in poetry of the 30{\crq}s and 40{\crq}s of the 20th century. Attention is firstly focused on Vaclav Černy and his interpretation of existential philosophy. Further on the object of the research becomes the group around Kamil Bednář and it{\crq}s theoretical texts that affect the discussion about this group and last but not least the concept of the {\clqq}naked person``, that should have become the programme of the young artists, was reflected. Attention is also focused on theoretical texts of Jindřich Chalupecký and on the poetics of Group 42 that instead of the meditative approach passed over to the objective view of the world. The works of Jiří Orten, Jan Hanč and Jiří Kolář analyse in what way poetry reflects the principles of existential imagination.
Thoughts of Plants

This diploma thesis called "Thoughts of Plants" consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part focuses on an explanation of the basic thoughts and inspiration that comprise the main resources for the practical part in my thesis. In context of this thesis subject, there is a documentation of the main points in the current art scene, which deals with plant and landscape detail. The practical part is composed of the monumental triptych connected to the subject. This triptych is made of acrylic paint on canvas.
Poetry of Vratislav Effenberger

The thesis deals with Vratislav Effenberger´s poetry from 1940 - 1951, issued in 2004 by Torst publishing under the title "Básně 1". This publishing house aims to publish the whole author´s work. At the beginning, the thesis introduces readers with the methodological demarcation, with the secondary literature and the main objective of the work. The second chapter deals with the general tendencies in French as well as in the Czechoslovakian surrealism expansion. The third chapter informs about Effenberger´s theoretical and artistic texts, many of which still await for publication. The fourth chapter focuses on Effenberger´s attitude towards surrealism and on his role as the main theorist. There is a number of surrealist terms explained. The content of the fifth chapter is finally the own interpretation of each poetry collection in comparison to interpretations of major surrealism personage such as Bruno Solařík, Miloslav Caňko and František Dryje. The sixth chapter provides the interpretation in ways of entering into Effenberger´s poetry based on the themes of space and time, subjectivity, objectivity, black humor and absurdity and the way of imaging the woman and erotica. The aim of this thesis is to describe Vratislav Effenberger´s personality and his poetry to the common current reader and help to understand it better.
The Poetry of Milada Součková

Annotation This diploma work is centred on the Milada Součková´s poetry between years 1942 ? 1983. The opening chapter is devoted to thesis and to methodolohical demarcation of the diploma work. Next the work attends to terminological demarcation of the notion ?avant-garde?. Primarily features chosen vocabulary imtems then result from Vladimír Papoušek´s book ? Gravitation of avant-gard. The second chapter deal with confrontation tendency of avant-garde with artistic tendency in Milada Součková´s piece. The work then ask question if is adequate to talk of Součková in context of avant-garde. Then the work hints at the same problemms in the chapter three which is devoted to Milada Součková´s husband, Zdenek Rykr. Then this chapter deals with contracted interception of Rykr´s life and try to cut up the similar common tendencies in the husbands´s pieces. The chapter fourth focuses on three Milada Součková´s studies, written between 1954 ? 1964. There are the studies characterized shortly in the work and confronted partly with the Součková´s piece and life again. The closing chapter is devoted to Milada Součková´s poetry itself. There are presented the idividual garners in the subchapters, the garners are interpreted by authoress of this work, she captures common tendencies of Součková´s piece and the garners are confronted each other. She references to two poems published between 1938 - 1939 also. The claim of this chapter is then to cut up the metamorphoses or recurrent themes, motives in the Milada Součková´s complex piece on the contrary.
Czech Poetry in English Exile during World War II

This Bachelor thesis is focused on interpretation of poetry of Czech authors in British exile during World War II.While examining individual collections, the poems are viewed in the context of simultaneous domestic poetry in the 30?s and 40?s of the 20th century.The main aim of the thesis is to catch the experience of a lyrical subject in the exile background. Another important part of this thesis is also a chapter which is dealing with cultural background in British exile, since this element, understandably, influenced the life of Czechoslovakian emigrants and our artists.Contemporary anthologies which were published in British exile during World War II are analysed in this chapter, as well.Another topic which is mentioned briefly in the thesis is the historical context which is closely connected with the later artists? departure and their works.
The Poetry of Literary Group
BROUČKOVÁ, Veronika
The submitted thesis concentrates on poetry of the Czech art group "Literární skupina", which was established in 1921. This thesis is divided into several chapters, in which the author interprets the poetry of single authors on the basis of several flag features. There are terms and motives of death and life as two inseparable parts of human being, religiousness and religion and shifting of the original meanings, further conception of an individual in terms of community. Another chapter deals with the motive of heart and reflections of sensibility and emotive involvement in interest of creation of "the new world". The last chapter displays reflections of "Literární skupina" by temporal critics and discussions between this art group and Prague avantgarde group "Devětsil". The author is interpreting the poetry in the context with expressionism, which meaning she feels in the wide word sense, not just as an artistic movement, but as a "stream", which goes through all spheres of human activity. From this point of view the group "Literární skupina" can be also seen - as an art group which was not distanced from expressionism, but on contrary in the beginning joined it via its speaker František Götz. The autor of this study analyzes the theoretical thoughts of "Literární skupina" which obviously in strong contrast to practical artistic gesture in poetry can be found.
The Work of J. Hora in Context of Czech Literature of 1st half of 20th Century (Monographic Study)

The thesis deals with interpretation Josef Hora´s (1891-1945) collection of works in context of literature of 1st half of 20th century. It is primarily focused on changes of Hora´s poetics in his poetical production. In addition the subject of interest is also author´s artistic and publicistic production. All these parts are related with his life and another literary production at that time. In the first chapter is Josef Hora´s biography devoted to influences on his works. The second chapter interprets author´s poetical production. His books of poetry are sorted in a chronological sequence for better understanding their mutual influences and the influences of period, when they were written. The third chapter refers to a trend of Hora´s proses in a chronological sequence as well and their interpetations. The fourth chapter specifies Hora´s Russian, South Slavic and German translations. The fifth chapter touches his publicistic production, particularly favourite themes and genres In the sixth chapter there is enumerated bibliography of Josef Hora and finally, all discovered facts are recapitulated and generalized in the summary.

The work of poets from the group around Kamil Bednář

Disertation ``The work of poets from the group around Kamil Bednář{\crqq} deals with a group of writers, which formed between 1930s and 1940s around the mentioned poet, who was considered to be the spokesman of his generation, which was labelled as ``protectoral{\crqq}. The author will try to explain the historical background of this group`s work in the context of Czech literature of the 1940s. The author will also study the crisis of this group during World War II, its gradual decline in the post-war period and its definite end after the takeover in February in 1948. The author will be concerned only with those poets, and their poetic and theoretical work, who became involved in the discussion about the young generation and its poetry. The author will try to clarify the idea and the conception of {\clqq}naked human``, which implied, that it may be considered to be the program of young arrtists, or, at least, to be their mutual base. The author will mainly focus on three most interesting poets {--} Kamil Bednář, Hanuš Bonn and first of all, Jiří Orten. The author will take notice of the similarities, differences and also the existential phenomena, which are usually connected with the group around Kamil Bednář. Jiří Orten will appear to be the most tallented , the most inspirative and probably also the closest to philospophical existentialism. There are special chapters devoted to Jarní almanach básnický (Spring poetic almanac), which is a generational performance of young poets; Kritický měsíčník (Critical monthly) {--} a magazine, edited by Václav Černý, which provided space for the poets around Kamil Bednář and Ohnice (White Charlock) , which was the last act of the fading group. The author will also mention briefly the penetration of existentialism to Bohemia.
The forgotten poet of Turnov - J. V. Šimák

The paper is devoted to poetry written by historian J. V. Šimák (1870-1940), concerned with it during his whole life; this activity is above all described for years 1866-1907. The paper deals mostly with Šimák´s epic poetry, especially with a piece Tur (1903). Four examples of as yet unpublished poetry are attached.
