Summary and comparison of ways of maintenance segments in database system ORACLE

The segments are used in ORACLE database as space for allocation of free space for database objects. During of using of these objects, the segments can be damaged. The damage of segments can have a negative impact to performance of database. Free space can be used ineffectively in database, if the segments are damaged. This work has three aims. The first aim is to describe the ways of damage of segments in ORACLE database. The second aim is to describe how the segments can be repaired. The third aim is make some tests and discover, if the reparations are successful and give some advices, which ways of reparation are good. Reader can make an idea, how to care about segments in ORACLE database.
