Semiotic and anthropological analysis of Prague metro

Presented diploma work called "Semiotic and anthropological analysis of Prague metro" shows metro to a reader as a place from a semiotic point of view. A metro "user" plays a key role in the whole diploma work. Apart from dealing with metro as a place, this work also regards a reference of a fixed structure of metro to a city. The work also pays attention to an analysis of signs that can be found there by a metro user and can serve him as a useful tool for better orientation there. In the theoretical part semiotics as a science and its approaches are being presented. The diploma work also deals with a topic of a city from an antropological point of view. It applies, for example, a question of place and nonplace, picture of a city or a map and itineraries. The applied part of the work presents use of the theory in Prague metro. It also deals with orientation, navigational sign systems and comunication systems. Other topic examined in this diploma work is a role of Prague metro and its city surroundings in a mental city mapping done by its user. Besides, the work shows the metro and its surroundings as a place of everyday life. Seal and sealing rollers

The topic of this bachelor thesis are seals and cylinder seals. The theoretical part summarizes the basic information about seals and cylinder seals, a brief history of their creation and their use. Furthermore, the thesis deals with the idea of using seals and cylinder seals as aids for pre-school children. Last but not least, this thesis deals with the history and the current use of pictograms not only in everyday life but also its use as a kind of nonverbal communication. In the practical part cylinder seals and stamp seals to be made of ceramics and plaster, which can serve as aids not only for children of pre-school age.

Autism and game

This diploma thesis is called Autism and game and there are two main parts theoretical one and practical one. The theoretical introduction is based on general knowledge about autism, followed by important chapters of the thesis which are concerned on the visual communication, visual communication strategy in autism and compensation aids. The content of the practical part is the origin and solution description of the compensation aid suggested by myself the visual calendar for better orientation in the longer time space. In the conclusion of the thesis there is an assessment of the visual calendar use in practice. In addition there is a picture supplement.
Pictogram in history of graphic arts and the ways of current application

The thesis is focused on history and present application of pictograms. The thesis includes theoretical and practical parts to introduce the phenomenon of pictogram. Theoretical part embraces three chapters: basic terminology that is using in problematic of pictograms, the pictograms in communication in general and presumptive genesis of pictogram from cave art, Egyptian art to comic strips. Practical part presents the spheres and applications of pictogram in nowadays such as traffic, tourism, orientation, informatics and communication systems, logotypes, national and personal presentation, religious symbols. The thesis is concerned with historical and graphical contexts with respect to mentioned fields of application.
