Iodine 131 Accumulation in Thyroid Remnant after Strumectomy in Thyroid Carcinoma: Comparison of Scintillation Probe and Scintillation Camera
SVOBODA, Štěpán
The aim of the study was to compare the accumulation of 131I in the rest of the thyroid gland after strumectomy in thyroid carcinoma by scintillation probe and on a scintillation camera. In the practical part I deal with the research question: "Is the accumulation of iodine 131 in the rest of the thyroid gland measured by a scintillation probe significantly different from the measurement on a scintillation camera?" and the null hypothesis: "The values of iodine 131 accumulation measurements do not differ depending on the scintillation camera and scintillation probe measurements." The observed accumulation in the scintillation camera and the scintillation probe was analyzed by one way ANOVA, or one-way analysis of variance, which answered the question of whether the 131I accumulation measurements on the scintillation probe and on the scintillation camera differed. Finally, the research question was answered, confirmed by the additional hypothesis stated above in this chapter. The results of this work can be used in the following practice in the field of measuring 131I accumulation.
