Data collected by qualitative questioning techniques are analysed by triple coding and interpretation of resulting categories and their relationships. People in need for care in the region tend to prefer the established way of solution, i.e. to care with their own strength, then use the offer of residential care services. The diploma thesis deals with the provision of care services in the Districts of Municipalities with Extended Competence (DMEC) of the City of Benešov. Its aim is to describe the care service in DMEC Benešov, ways of its provision and changes related to the ongoing transformation, from the perspective of providers and from the perspective of clients. Another goal is to evaluate the expansion of the field care service onto weekends and into rural areas in DMEC Benešov. The thesis is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the issue of care services. The practical part examines the area of the issue and is aimed to find answers to two main research questions: How is the care service provided in DMEC Benešov? How is the transformation of the Care Service of the Benešov District? A qualitative research strategy, a method of questioning and a semi-structured interview technique were chosen. The research group consisted of 12 informants, who were selected through deliberate selection, purposeful selection technique and their availability. The results were processed by data analysis using grounded theory. From the research, it can be concluded that the care service in DMEC Benešov has a stable team that supports clients to stay at home. The care service is mostly provided to seniors, who most often receive services such as lunch delivery, taking care of the household and assistance with personal hygiene. The care service provides a service on weekends even in rural areas, where it covers the so-called white spaces. Thanks to the project Care Service - Opportunity for a Life at Home II. The Care Service of the Benešov District managed to focus on professional work, expand the target group with families with a child/children and extend the operational hours until 19:00 and on weekends. However, the research revealed that in the DMEC Benešov there is not much interest in providing care services during weekends. The results can be used as feedback for care service providers in DMEC Benešov and as examples of good practice for other care service providers.
Websites of care service providers in the South Bohemian Region according to the Register Social Service Providers
BARTUŠKOVÁ, Michaela
The objective of my diploma thesis is analysing the webpages of chosen care providers in the Region of South Bohemia from the perspective of individuals currently interested in using care services for a family member. With regard to the character and objective of my diploma thesis, I chose three research questions. How do candidates evaluate the design and clarity of the webpages belonging to the chosen care service providers? How do service candidates evaluate the ease of finding and the amount of information on the webpages of chosen care service providers and what information is important to them on the webpage? How do prices for individual acts of provided services differ in chosen providers? To reach the objective of my diploma thesis and to answer research questions I have chosen to combine the methods of both, qualitative and quantitative research. In the qualitative part, I chose a semi-structured interview with ready questions that I asked for in all analysed provider webpages to be the data collection technique. In the quantitative part, I used the technique of a questionnaire with closed scaling questions to be the data collection technique. There are two research files appearing in my thesis. One of these are people currently interested in care service and the other are webpages of care service providers. For research purposes, I picked five webpages of providers who differed from each other in their organization form. The results prove that in case of the first research question, from the perspective of webpage design and its clarity, the following aspects are viewed as important, the font, the colours, and photos. Clarity is then linked to the above-mentioned factors together with the amount of information and its placement on the webpage. From the perspective of provided information, according to the research, the subjective feeling, the amount of information, ease or difficulty of finding specific information and how the visitor evaluates the web´s information being current, matter. In the last part of my research, I did a comparison of providers´ price lists within my research file and compared the given prices per task or a time interval to the Decree No. 505/2006 Coll. In majority of cases, the prices were stated equally in all organizations, they only differed in details. All organizations follow a financial limit based on the above-mentioned decree. The results of my thesis could serve as feedback to care service providers from the perspective of an independent observer who has minimal knowledge of this service, but on the other hand, is interested in given social service.
The live of users in nursing homes and in the home environment
JIRSOVÁ, Hana
The aim of this diploma thesis is to track the subjective reasons clients move to a nursing home. The theoretical part is focused on social work with the elderly, the legislative framework of the care service and the offer of assistance for the elderly. One of the chapters is devoted to the needs of old age. Part of the work is devoted to proper communication with the elderly. The end of the theoretical part is devoted to the importance of one's family in the care of the elderly and changes of one's home (moving). A qualitative research strategy was used in the diploma thesis. The research was a field research. The method of data collection was a semi-structured interview. The data were processed using qualitative content analysis and the creation of biographies of research participants. Three groups of respondents from the entire South Bohemian Region took part in the research. The first group consisted of elderly people who live in a home environment and use Home health care. The second group consisted of elderly people who live in a nursing home. The research also included a third group - employees in the care area. The most common reasons for moving to a nursing home were deteriorating health, musculoskeletal pain, frequent pain and falls. Another often mentioned reason was the fear that they could no longer take care of themselves due to reduced self-sufficiency. Most of the elderly people interviewed relied on the help of family and friends. Among the often mentioned reasons was the death of one's spouse and the fact that the family no longer wants or isn't able take care of them. From the point of view of employees, the reason may also be the solution of a housing and financial problem. Only one respondent was strongly dissatisfied with living in a nursing home. The results of the research can serve as feedback and information material for employees of care service.
