Advent and Christmas Compositions of the 19th Century from the Ledenice Parish Church
TRÖSTL, Jiří
The aim of this work is to describe and evaluate the collection of church compositions which were played in the 19th century during advent and Christmas in the church of St. Lawrence in Ledenice. This was a conservative cantorial music that maintained deep into the 19th century style elements of the 18th century music. The lyrics are Czech, advent compositions were determined for the Rorate Mass, Christmas compositions belong to pastorels. The operational apparatus counts with a few children and adult singers, players on stringed and wind instruments and an organist. The edition of the chosen compositions is a part of the work.
