The Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava opens the exhibition event of the year

The first Republic is connected with elegance, charm and noble in fashion and design. Was art and architecture in the Ostrava region different from other parts of the republic? Is this the question of Black Country? The myth and reality prepared by Renata Skrebska, curator of the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO). The Gallery of the Year will be launched on Tuesday, September 25, at 5 pm. The Ostrava House of Art will be on display until January 6th of next year.

Exhibition Odile Decq Ivan Pinkava and Eliáš Dolejší and Emanuel Krenka on Sunday end

Until Sunday, June 10, you can see the photos and sculptures of Ivan Pinkava and Elias Dolejší, the architectural realization of Odile Decq and the gift of Emanuel Křenka in the Ostrava House of Art. The exhibition will replace the presentation of the new visual style of GVUO, which was prepared for the gallery by Robert V. Novák and Zuzana Burgrová, the project Who is the winner ?, which accompanies the sporting event of the year called IAAF Continental Cup at the Ostrava 2018 athletics and in cooperation with the Faculty of Arts of the Ostrava University Diploma 2018. They will be started gradually in the week of June 18 in the Ostrava House of Art.

Vlastislav Hofman and the Czech Cubist avant-garde in Ostrava

Gold medal for stage design at the International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Art in 1925 in Paris. Is it possible to summarize the abilities of the all-talented artist Vlastislav Hofman? Hofman was primarily an architect, but his relationship to avant-garde streams also interfered with his painting, graphic, scenographic and design work. The exhibition at the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava, which was created in cooperation with the Institute of Art History, will present it in full and unforgettable even the only cubo-expressionist crematorium in Czechoslovakia designed and realized together with František Mencl in Moravská Ostrava between 1923 and 1925.

The author's architectural designs, paintings, graphics, print mats, porcelain, furniture, crematorium model in Moravská Ostrava, film screenings and archival documents are exhibited. The exhibition has been reviewed by over 11,000 visitors.

A commemorative evening on the occasion of the Křenkova Gift Exhibition at the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava will take place on Thursday, May 31, at 5 pm in the Art House in Ostrava.

The Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO) launches four exhibition projects at once. After the exhibition Vlastislav Hofman / Tribute to Invention, he focuses on a wide range of styles, techniques and authors. Everyone will come to theirs. At a joint opening on Thursday, January 25, at 5 pm, the gallery will open exhibitions to introduce the Baroque painting and graphics, the Republican, abstract and contemporary art to the public. The exhibitions will be on display in the Art House of Ostrava until Sunday, March 25th.

The House of Art exhibits Russian paintings and drawings from its collection from the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries

The Ostrava Gallery has more than 2,300 paintings in its collections. Some of them belong to an art collection of foreign origin. It also includes 150 artworks of Russian, especially realistic and modern art from the end of the 19th and the first half of the 20th century. More than 30 of them, mainly paintings and drawings as well as larger formats, will be presented at the exhibition Song of Soul / Russian Art from the collections of the Gallery of Fine Arts in Ostrava (GVUO), whose curator is the director of the institution. It will start on Tuesday 31 July at 5 pm and you will be able to see it in the Art House of Ostrava until 9 September.

The same questions have been asked, and perhaps still, by 27 students - artists who have mastered their master's degree at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava. Their latest production is presented at the 2018 Diploma 2018 exhibition at the Art House in Ostrava and at the Laboratory Gallery until 22 July. Paintings, graphics, drawings, book design, video performances, sculptures, installations and multimedia across all artistic studios can be seen.
