The effect of footwear on deformity of the foot in a woman - the role of the nurse in prevention
MLEJNKOVÁ, Natálie
The topic of this diploma thesis is "Influence of footwear on foot deformities in women - the role of nurses in prevention". The theoretical part is devoted to the foot anatomy, it describes the issue of heels on the foot and represents the Giraffe certification. The practical part of the qualitative research shows the role of nurses in preventing foot deformities for patients. This thesis has two goals. To find out what footwear affects the deformities of the legs in women and to find out what role the nurse plays in preventing this issue. The research questions are 1. What is the importance of wearing high-heeled shoes for women and how will this be reflected later? 2. What role do nurses attribute to the prevention in this issue? Data collection was collected by semi-structured interviews with nurses in the orthopaedic ward and orthopaedic clinics. The research sample consists of 20 respondents, the choice was deliberate and formed by snowball sampling. In February 2019, data was collected, which was subsequently terminated at the moment of theoretical saturation. The interview covered themes: wearing high-heeled shoes, leg deformities caused by high-heeled shoes, nurse-led prevention and education. The results show that only a fraction of nurses adhere to the role of a nurse who helps patients prevent leg deformities. The rest of the nurses leave prevention and education to doctors. This diploma thesis presents as a work output a poster, which can be an information material for nurses from the orthopaedic clinics and beds. The output of the thesis is an educational poster that will reflect the entire nursing issue in prevention (the role of a nurse, the deformity of the feet caused by high-heeled shoes, etc.).
Proposed International Marketing Strategy of Svorto.cz s.r.o. company for the German market
Mertlová, Jana ; Král, Petr (advisor) ; Vokáč, Matěj (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to devise an international marketing strategy for the Svorto.cz s.r.o. company on the German market that should help the firm with promotion abroad. The analysis used include the analysis of competition, customers, external environment (i.e. political and legal, economic, socio-cultural and technological environment) and SWOT, all focused on the German market. The results of this analysis clearly indicate that the German market is highly competitive and saturated, nevertheless the company can try to break into the market through wholesale with medical aids. The company does not need to adapt its product for the German market and should deliver them under the distributor's brand with low price, especially during the promotional phase, and also continue with the participation in international trade fairs. The conclusions made based on the analysis should help the company to further define its approach to the entry and promotion of its products in Germany, considering the company itself has never carried out any survey of the German market before.
Use of orthotic aids for children with cerebral palsy
PIPKOVÁ, Veronika
Cerebral palsy (CP) is a complex of disorders in the development of posture and ability to move which cause limitation of activity. It is an unprogressive disease, which begins in the prenatal, perinatal, or postnatal phase of a neonate. Although the disability does not progress, complex rehabilitation may improve the clinical state. There is a difference between the spastic and the non-spastic type. The major aim of this thesis is to map the possibilities of orthotic care for children suffering from CP and to evaluate the effect of physiotherapy with the use of chosen aids. Three probands suffering from hemiparetic CP participated in the research. The aim is to answer these research questions: What are the possibilities of orthotic care for children with cerebral palsy? What changes will occur in the postural behaviour of probands due to the physiotherapy with the use of orthotic aids? The theoretical part is concerned with the issues of CP. The disease is described in a general way and divided according to the time of beginning and type. Furthermore, the diagnostics and therapy are explained. It is also concerned with spasticity and its symptoms, mechanisms, diagnostics and therapy. An overview of orthotic aids, and experimental methods like posturography and surface electromyography are covered as well. The practical part deals with a qualitative research which was completed by case interpretations of three schoolchildren suffering from hemiparetic CP. The thesis includes an initial and a final kinesiologic analysis and a description of applied physiotherapies. Furthermore, it includes the results of posturogtaphy and surface electromyography focused on the orthotic aids used by the probands. The research took place in Centrum Arbida in České Budějovice and in the physiotherapy centre at the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences of The University of South Bohemia in České Budějovice. This thesis may be used as a comprehensive overview of the given issues and possibilities of orthotic therapy for children suffering from CP.
