The effect of experience on the frequency-dependent food selectivity of predatory aquatic insects.
DUDOVÁ, Pavla
The aim of this thesis is to evaluate current knowledge of predation in aquatic insects in the light of optimal foraging theory and switching. I explain these two phenomena and discuss how they can be connected to explain frequency-dependent prey selection. The review is complemmented by laboratory experiments on the effect of experience on frequency-dependent food selectivity of larvae of dragonflies (Odonata).
