The work "Principles of care for a mother and her sucklings" provides comprehensive information about stages before and after farrowing as well as the farrowing itself and focuses on an area, where substantial reserves exist in the breeding of animals thus pointing out room for improvement. With regard to the breadth of the topic only conventional dairy cow farming is treated in detail. Natural motherly behavior is described as well. The situation in farming of beef cattle, sheep and goats and organic livestock farming is described marginally. The main part of this work is divided between pre-farrowing stage, farrowing and post-farrowing stage. Each stage is described and the most important principles of care in that stage are mentioned. The work is complemented with a survey examining the state of industry of a narrow group of farmers. The resulsts are then consulted with recommendations in contemporary literature.
Determine weather conditions outdoor rearing of calves in the selected locality and a proposal for any adjustment

The care of calves takes an important part in the live-stock breeding system. Only well and healthily bred calves can fulfil their genetic potential during their life and become a valuable member of a herd of dairycows that will be worthy for its breeder. One of a calf breeding method during the milk period is so-called aerial breeding in which calves are relocated into an individual outside box and kept there until weaning, i.e. 2-3 months age. Particular rules of the box location and climatic effects must be followed but sometimes they are not. The main aim of this thesis was to explore the exposition of climatic effects in an aerial calf breeding part in a particular concern, to evaluate founded datas and try to design some arrangements to improve it.
The analysis of the beef breed charolais with the regard to the animal welfare

The aim of this work was evaluate the productive indexes and appreciate the behaviour of beef cattle dams reared in the system of breeding cows without market milk production. The analysis of the beef herd was performed in the agricultural company farming in above sea level altitude 650 meters. Through the years 2001 - 2006 was evaluated reproduction indexes by dams of basic herd and calves growth ability. Ethological monitoring was important for appreciation welfare conditions of breeding. Monitoring went ahead in single yearly periods in luminous parts of the day. Tracked group formed 31 pieces of dams, calves and sire.
