The aim of this diploma thesis is preventive assessment of the landscape character in a specific territory. The literary research is focused on landscape, nature and landscape of the Czech Republic, the division of the landscape, landscape character and landscape character protection, nature park, method of protection and evaluation of landscape character. The last parts of the literature search are methodical procedures used for landscape character assessment. The practical part was focused on natural, historical and cultural features landscape's charaster. The evaluation was assessed by means of meaning, value and expression. In compliance with these facts there was indentified aesthetic value and protection of landscape character.

The bachelor thesis deals with the evaluation of the landscape character in the cadastral area of Škůdra. The concerned territory is in the district Strakonice, South Bohemia. In the research part, there are basic information about landscape, landscape character and its protection. The practical part is focused on the identification of natural, historical and cultural features characterizing the landscape character and their subsequent classification according to their expression, meaning and value. Based on these features, the landscape character was also evaluated in terms of preservation, aesthetic value and degree of protection. Thanks to this analysis, it was possible to make concrete proposals to increase the value of the landscape.

This diploma thesis deals with the preventive assessment of the landscape character of the cadastral territory of Rabštejn nad Střelou. The evaluated area extends into the Nature Park and there is a small specially protected area called Střela Nature Reserve. The research area outside of the natural wealth is also rich in historical buildings. The research part has the focus on the analysis of the landscape of Rabštejn nad Střelou. The territory has been assessed on the basis of identified natural, cultural and historical features and values of landscape character. For each of the traits, its significance, expression and value were determined. For the cadastral area the degree of preservation of the landscape character, its aesthetic value and the degree of protection were determined. On the basis of the analysis, specific proposals for increasing the value of the landscape character were set.

Hodnocení krajinného rázu ostrovů Gran Canaria a Fuerteventura

This work is studying the development and actual situation of landscape in Canary Islands with focusing on islands of Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura. The specific geologic and climatic conditions with huge impact of human activity and tourism started to change the landscape radically. First part contains analysis of the geographical, geological and nature conditions of all seven Canary Islands and the process of colonisation through the boom of tourism and its impact to the landscape. Second part of the study is focused on measures how to preserve the original character of the landscape in coordination with development of tourism and economic activity. The work also contains an application of the assessment method of larger areas created by Ing. Roman Bukáček.
