The aim of this master thesis is to study and map small sacral monuments within a selected area - the area of Nová Říše and its immediate surroundings. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first theoretical part deals with description and mapping of the small sacral monuments in the area. The aim is to explain the historical significance of those monuments in the landscape and to characterize, with help of period sources, literature and the testimonies of witnesses, the spirit of the place the small sacral monuments bring to the landscape. The second part of the theses focuses on the practical side and is looking for the ways on how to involve the public as a part of the education, especially children and youngsters so that the legacy of these silent witnesses in the landscape would last for generations to come. The work is based on relevant academic literature, contemporary sources and also on the interviews with old-timers, story catchers and also with experts on the subject.
