The role of the nurse in patients with urinary incontinence
PONERTOVÁ, Magdaléna
Urinary incontinence is a common disease that is often underestimated. Patient education is very important for early detection of possible complications in patients with urinary incontinence. The bachelor's thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part focuses on the anatomy and physiology of the lower urinary tract, general information about urinary incontinence, examination methods, treatment, the nurse's role, prevention, education, and finally the most common nursing diagnoses are mentioned. The aim of the empirical part was to find out what the nurse's role is in patients with urinary incontinence, what nursing diagnoses nurses make in patients with urinary incontinence, and what incontinence aids nurses use in nursing care for patients with urinary incontinence. The research was focused on nurses working in the urology department, namely in the ambulatory department, the inpatient department and the Intensive Care Unit. In total, three research questions were established for this research. The research investigation was carried out in the form of semi-structured interviews. The research group consisted of 10 nurses. From the obtained data, it was found that the role of the nurse in the ambulatory part of the urology department, the standard inpatient department and the Intensive Care Unit is different. Furthermore, the research showed that nurses in the Intensive Care Unit do not instruct patients and do not give patients information about the possibilities of using compensatory aids. We also found out that nurses in the ambulatory part of the urology department cannot hand out information brochures to patients without a doctor's indication. On the other hand, the nurses of the inpatient wards can hand out information brochures at their discretion. At the same time, nurses working in the Intensive Care Unit have a smaller number of information brochures at their disposal and only hand them to patients if the patient shows interest. Furthermore, we found that very few nurses make nursing diagnoses. The output of the bachelor thesis is an informative brochure. It can be beneficial not only for nurses and students of medical fields, but also for patients, who can raise awareness about the problem of urinary incontinence.

Bartošová, Simona ; Strnadová, Alice (advisor) ; Marunová, Alice (referee)
v AJ: This diploma thesis deals with the field of nursing diagnosis in internal intensive care units. The theoretical part describes the basics of the nursing process and mainly focuses on the nursing diagnosis. Subsequently, it informs the reader about history, development and structure of the NANDA Taxonomy II. The main part of the thesis consists of a quantitative survey which aims at general nurses' knowledge about the nursing diagnosis NANDA - International. It also comments on how nursing diagnoses are made and what opinion general nurses have about making nursing diagnosis and NANDA taxonomy II. Finally, it provides the reader with overview of nursing diagnoses that general nurses often come across in intensive care units. And these diagnoses create uniform file according to the NANDA Taxonomy I I. Klíčová slova v AJ: Nursing diagnosis, nursing process, nursing diagnoses, NANDA- International, intenzive care unit

Nursing diagnosis of a client with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis
ŠVECOVÁ, Karolína
This bachelor thesis deals with the disease Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). The theoretical part is focused on the anatomy of motor system, disease characteristics, etiology, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment and specific nurse roles in this issue are also included. It also deals with basic areas of nursing process for the client with this disease. The empirical part was based on research goals and questions, regarding nursing diagnoses and interventions occurring in case of clients with ALS. Qualitative research was used to obtain results. Clients with Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis were selected as a research group. The informations were investigated system of collecting data inspired by D. Orem´s self-care deficit theory. Subsequently, the open style for coding "pencil-paper" method for processing an anamnestic file was used. This method helped to received interventions and specific problems of individual clients, which were subsequently defined as a nursing diagnosis with the help of NANDA Taxonomy II. The publication Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC) was served for comparing of the above-mentioned interventions within discussion. The results provided answers to research questions. The basic nursing diagnoses were find out by the performing and processing of research survey. It dependent on the current stage of disease. The most affected region are universal self-care requirements for clients with ALS. The requirements for this category includes sufficient supply of air, food, fluids, toileting or balance of activity and rest. Subsequently, related interventions were mentioned in the individual nursing diagnoses.

Specifics of nursing care for patients at risk for fall
ČERVENKOVÁ, Marcela
Patients´ falls not only in home environment but just when they are hospitalized are not pleasant for the hospital medical team, and are much more uncomfortable for the patients themselves. Falls are unintended situations into which the patient gets unintentionally and involuntarily, resulting in a reduced quality of life. In summary, complications arising from falls have an adverse bio-psycho-social impact. As the patients´ falls are considered undesirable events and their frequency is being monitored by many health care facilities, falls belong to indicators of the nursing care quality. Informed health professionals, providing active nursing care, take targeted preventive measures aiming to prevent patients´ falls. The aim of this thesis is to determine the specifics of nursing care for patients at risk for fall and to find out the patients´ at risk of fall views on implemented prevention measures, since the feedback from patients is an important factor for evaluation of this care. This research work is composed by using qualitative research methods. Two research groups were involved in the survey. The first research group consisted of eight nurses working in a standard hospital ward, and a second group consisted of seven patients hospitalized in these wards. The resulting data were processed into summary and categorized tables. The outcomes of the research have confirmed that the patients at risk for fall need a specific nursing care and this care is received positively by those patients. The results of this thesis will be provided to the management of České Budějovice hospital, where the research investigation was carried out, and this can help improve the quality of care provided to hospitalized patients who are at risk for fall.
