Nutrition status of dairy cows and occurrence of metabolic disorders in postnatal period on a family farm
FREJLACH, Tomáš
The objective of this thesis was to evaluate the nutritional status of dairy cows, the incidence of subclinical ketosis and other postpartum problems of 24 dairy cows on a family farm. The evaluation took place 1 month before birth and 1 month after birth. This period determines the course of subsequent lactation and the next reproductive cycle. It was ascertained that the dairy cows were most often in excellent (3-3.5) condition and there were no incidences of extreme emaciation or obesity. The incidence of mild subclinical ketosis in the dairy cows on the farm is quite common and was detected in 23 dairy cows, which amounts to 95.8%. Other postpartum disorders occur rarely.
