The name of the thesis: Net approaching in tennis Objectives: The main objektive of this thesis is to describe and analyze one ot the game situaation in tennis - net approaching and to find out how the surface on the tennis court influences this situation by the elite tennis players. Methods: This analyze was done based the official statistical entries announced on the official grandslams'websites (Wimbledon 1012, Australian Open 2012, Rolland Garros 2012). Results: The results proved that the fast surface of tennis court is the most suitable for net approaching and they serve for the future research. Keywords: net approaching, surface
