Setting boundaries between social workers and clients in asylum houses
KUCHÁROVÁ, Barbora
The thesis deals with the setting, observance and violation of professional boundaries between a social worker and a client in a shelter for men. It identifies social services in the context of shelters. It also describes the role of a social worker in a shelter and specifies what a professional relationship should look like. It includes the topic of burnout syndrome and mental hygiene. The second part of the thesis is based on semi-structured interviews, which were attended by three social workers working in shelters for men. All respondents perceive setting and adhering to boundaries as very important, although all three do not perform equally in this area. This is due to the fact that each person is an individual being and there is no universal rule in the area of boundaries that can be applied to all workers equally.
