Occurrence and Prevention of Asthma in Youth Division Cross-country Skiers

Title: Occurrence and Prevention of Asthma in Youth Division Cross-country Skiers Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to determine the incidence of asthma in youth division cross-country skiers and its prevention. Methods: This thesis will comprise the method of survey and content analysis of documents. Hypotheses: No.1 Assume that asthma will have lower prevalence in youth division cross- country skiers than in adult cross-country skiers. No.2 Assume that the majority of the surveyed cross-country skiing coaches met with asthmatic symptoms in their athletes. Results: We found that 12% of youth division athletes suffer from asthma and 24% from allergies. The appearance of respiratory disease in cross country skiing

Title: The appearance of respiratory disease in cross country skiing Objectives: Aim of bachelor's thesis is to determine the incidence of respiratory disease in cross country skiers and approach the problem of asthma and its occurrence in cross-country skiers. Another goal is to find treatment in elite cross-country skiers and influence of respiratory disease on the performance of cross-country skiers. Methods: In the thesis was used method to survey and content analysis of documents. Results: We found that eight of the nineteen representatives of the Czech Republic has problems with respiratory illnesses, of which has seven representatives of the Czech Republic asthma, which is 34%.
