Peace Square in Brno
Nováková, Barbora ; Págo, Tomáš (referee) ; Františák, Luboš (advisor)
The goal of my project is urban delimitation for social and cultural life of people. The multifunctional building takes place along the Lerchova’s street and it is a closing point of the square. The other side of affore mentioned square is opened towards the park on Kravi hora. The dominant place is a st. Augustin church, that is located on the north side. The closing point on the south is a cultural center, which is connected with community garden. My main intention is to change a traffic situation, that is currently quite problematic. To accomplish this I have joined the Udolni and Brezinova streets together with a perpendicular street. The tram loop is also shifted more into the parkside. The main object is the 5 floor multifunctional building, that is in elementary concept with passage. The object determines natural communication axis from the square to school in the Lerchova’s street. This concept is also reflected on the square. First floor is realized as a parter with commercial usage, the floor above is designed for living and parking is in the underground. Area for living is divided into a part of 1 floor housing units, that are accessible from a platform and a part of housing units inside the main building. Project comprises blue-green elements of grass surface for sucking the water into soil, trees in the square and perennial bed in the middle of tram loop.

Design of a sustainable urban structure - based on a medieval city - for the 21st century.
Dutka, Tomáš ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The assignment of diploma thesis was the design of a sustainable urban structure based on a medieval city in Náměšť nad Oslavou. As part of the work, I tried to find the best solution for this solved area, which is isolated by a railway corridor and suggest a new city district based on the principle of a medieval city, which will be linked to the existing city. The proposed development of city blocks is built on a system of platforms that level the terrain within the blocks and enable optimal parking spaces and the use of commercials. This development is complemented by several blocks with villa houses and a city SPA complex. The proposal supports the construction of cycle paths that connect parts of the solved area with the Rathan recreation pond. The design also includes a large park with a lookout tower and a sports ground on the city horizon ner the SPA complex. The accent was also placed on the public area near the new railway station, which serves to gather people for cultural and entertainment opportunities. This public space should not compete with an existing Masaryk square, which fulfills a representative and administration function.
Design of settlement structure of contemporary city in historical context.
Suchanek, Tomáš ; Obrtlík,, Jan (referee) ; Májek, Jan (advisor)
The topic of this master‘s thesis was to create a settlement structure on the territory of the cadastral territory of the town of Náměšť nad Oslavou. Specifically in the southwestern part of the town, in the places of today's agricultural areas. The main goal of the thesis is to create a quality residential structure for the entire area, which will connect to the surrounding development, to create a center with urban amenities for this newly designed neighborhood. A key aspect of the design is the transport connection to the existing road network of the city and overcoming the barrier formed by the railway line. The proposed development responds to the current and future anticipated needs of the city. Taking into account the size, the proposed area is divided into three parts with regard to the time sequence and the nature of the development. From an urban point of view, the first phase builds on the existing network of streets and creates a transition between the original and the proposed development and proposes transport connections to the area. In the second and third phase, the remaining area of the proposed area is resolved, by a system of regular streets designed in places with a small slope of the terrain, connected by short streets with a higher slope. The master‘s thesis addresses the connection between the city and greenery, increases the attractiveness of the area by designing public facilities and services and works with visual axes from the existing housing and commercial development to the proposed location.
Architectural study of the sacral object Brno - Líšeň / second stage
Prokopová, Kateřina ; Žalmanová, Petra (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor)
The topic of the diploma thesis is the elaboration of the design of a new sacral building in Brno-Líšeň. The church building is complemented by a spiritual center with facilities. The church is to serve not only the contemporary Salesian community, but also to be open to a wider circle of believers. It is a slightly sloping plot in the middle of a panel building between the polyclinic building and the building of the Salesian Youth Center (= Salesko). Salesko is a non-profit organization whose mission is to accompany children and young people on their journey to adulthood and contribute to their physical, mental and spiritual development. The center builds on the preventive pedagogical system of Don Bosco, the founder of the Salesians. The idea is based on the main essence of the Salesians - home, family background, community. The design processes several interconnected operations into one complete unit with a common entrance atrium. The floor plan of the objects imitates the letter U, which means openness to the surrounding world, while also providing a certain background - safety. The buildings are single-storey, only the liturgical space itself, formed by a circular floor plan, forms a dominant dominant with a bell tower. Part of the design is the solution of parking spaces and free outdoor areas. From the urban point of view, emphasis is placed on walking accessibility, at the same time barrier-free access and use of the building is ensured.
Design of a sustainable urban structure - based on a medieval city - for the 21st century.
Čech, Daniel ; Erben, Adam (referee) ; Pavlovský, Tomáš (advisor)
The aim of the design was to create a functional urban structure in Náměšť nad Oslavou, which works on the principles of a modern city of the 21st century, but is also inspired by elements of a medieval city. So it is a marriage of the old with the new. On this basis, a compact functional structure was designed, which functions as a complement to the existing development and does not serve as a separate unit. In the new development, therefore, elements were designed to help improve the quality of life throughout the city. Emphasis was placed on the unique character of the development, a car-free center, plenty of green space and work with natural resources. The design has a lifespan of tens to hundreds of years. The proposed development can later be extended to the space, but also to the height.
Hevlín – place in the landscape
Javůrková, Terezie ; Veselá, Markéta (referee) ; Foretník, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the urban structures of Hevlín, solves mainly the area of the current centre and the specific design of housing for the elderly and the medical house. After the bombardment of Hevlín at the end of World War II, an empty space was created in the urban structure, which became a square. However, its scale does not correspond to the urbanism of Hevlín, nor to the scale of human. A large space belongs to transport, parking and greenery, not to people. The aim of the work is to create a conceptual design of public spaces in the current centre of Hevlín. The aim of more detaild design of housing for the elderly and the medical house try tu interpret the attributes of a village house and at the same time reflect the current need of living.
Možnosti uplatnění krajinářské architektury při řešení vybraných městských prostorů
Škorňoková, Renáta
The masters thesis focuses on the application of the landscape architecture elements within the public urban space. The work is divided into two main parts, theoretical and practical. The basic terms that are necessary for deeper understanding of the topic are established in the first part of the thesis. This is followed by describing the methodology and the overall goal of this work. The topic of the public urban spaces has been researched and described in the context of the historical development which ends with the current problematics and the trends in designing of such places. The thesis also contains the descriptions of the urban space elements which compose these areas and give it a unique character. The last part of the research presents examples of already finished projects in the world and the Czech republic which also serve as an inspiration for the custom designs. This is followed by establishing the outcomes for designing the public urban space. All of the gained knowledge is consequently used in the other part of the thesis for designing of the selected urban space - a square "Palavske namesti" in "Brno-Vinohrady". The whole area is analysed from its early historical development until the current status. The analysis contains description of the traffic, greenery, technical elements within the area, proprietary rights, regional planning and wider context. The problem map is based on the results of the analysis and together with the outcomes for designing public urban space they serve as a fundament for the custom design. The custom design contains a solution for the area of "Palavske namesti" together with the surrounding streets. Aim of the the resulting work is to satisfy the local residents and make a pleasant and safe environment where the people can meet and spend their leisure time.
