Model Train Controlled by Computer with Web Interface
Smažinka, Petr ; Maršík, Lukáš (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was to study the existing methods of controlling model railways, to analyse them and then to propose a new method of wireless control. An important feature of the new control method is the train recognition method, where the track is continuously scanned by a camera, which in real time recognizes the trains on the track according to their movement and at the same time performs their identification by means of a unique code transmitted by each train using an infrared diode. The work also aimed to build a minimalistic and clear web-based user interface to control the whole system. The entire system is fully functional, allows manual and semi-automatic operation and supports the simultaneous running of multiple locomotives, including automatic control of traffic lights, journey planning and switch changes. During the implementation, performance limitations of the hardware used were found to prevent the decoding of the addresses transmitted by the infrared diodes. Only motion analysis is used to detect trains, but this proved to be sufficient during testing.
Model Train Controlled by Microcomputer
Látal, Tomáš ; Musil, Petr (referee) ; Zemčík, Pavel (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to verify whether and how it is possible to control a model railroad using Raspberry Pi. Another goal is to create a minimalistic model railroad control system using non-specialized equipment available to ordinary user, taking into account the possibility of controling this system using smartphones or tablets. The final result is the system implemented in C++ and Python~3 languages using Arduino Motor Shield R3 with H-bridge L298P.
Wireless Remote Control of Railway Model
Chlupová, Hana ; Kováčik, Michal (referee) ; Tříska, Vít (advisor)
This bachelor thesis describes the possibilities of wireless control of model railways. At the system level, the model railway and trains are managed by application running on a PC. The project consists of two modules for train control, one module for railway control and application controlling the entire system. Both modules communicate wirelessly with a PC by Bluetooth technology. The block schemes and designs of circuits were designed, and then the circuits were realized. I have implemented the PC application, which allows users to view and control model railway and its elements.
