Web application for teaching of volume and surface area of solilds in secondary schools
Rakušanová, Lucie ; Robová, Jarmila (advisor) ; Surynková, Petra (referee)
This thesis is focused on the volume and surface area of solids, particularly on the volume and surface area of polyhedra, which are part of the high school curriculum of geometry (stereometry). The purpose of website is to provide supporting and comple- mentary material for students as well as for their teachers. The website contains several photographs, illustrations and interactive components that make it easier to understand the topics. Interactive elements include applets created in a dynamic geometry appli- cation called GeoGebra, hyperlinks, and step-by-step exercise solving. Furthermore, the thesis is supplemented by solved problems and a final summary test. 1
Leonardo and geometry
Pajerová, Nikola ; Šarounová, Alena (advisor) ; Surynková, Petra (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with geometrical creation of Leonardo da Vinci. History of pavement and polyhedra is summarized in here. The description of construction of the two pavement's position and eight-point construction are covered in this thesis. The charasteristics and relations among every single regular, semiregular and star-shaped polyhedra are mentioned here too. In the last chapter there is mentioned the Leonardo da Vinci's biography and mention of his codices. This chapter is also concentrated on the pavement and reconstruction of linear perspective in some of his pictures and also on comparison Leonardo's pictures of polyhedra with real image of the solid in fixed position and large in linear perspective. Teachers can find here theme for their creation in programmes GeoGebra and Rhinoceros, where the reconstruction of linear perspective, ellipses and polyhedra are reconstructed.
