Criminal actions of minors and their causes.
DVOŘÁKOVÁ, Vendula
Minor criminality is a topic, which lately starts to draw an attention to itself by rising of crimes and especially by a low age of offenders. Media always offer to a listener or reader a result of an offense but never look at the cause which led the minor offender to such an act. A current hot topic still remains an age reduction of the criminal responsibility to 14 years, this change already took place, but before it became effective, the age for the criminal responsibility was returned to 15 years. For the reason of continual problems to discuss the issue I consider the topic to be interesting and actual for the processing of the bachelor thesis. The theoretical part of the thesis was focused on a definition of fundamental concepts, a structure of the criminality divided into basic types of crimes occurring at the minors. Then it was focused on measures imposed on minors for their offenses. The second part of the theory was focused on the psychological development of a child till its pubescence. Last but not least there were stated causes of delinquent behaviour and organizations cooperating with the minors who committed the offense. The aim of the thesis is to inform the public about the issue and to highlight the problem which should not be taken into account only in consequences, but above all to be focused on the causes. Perpetrators are people who should be the future for a further development of the society. The research method was a secondary data analysis provided by trustees for the youth. From obtained data there were prepared case studies concerning minors to 15 years and minors over 15 year. For the practical part five research questions were stated. The first three of them solve the questions, whether the crimes were rather committed by minors to 15 years or minors older than 15 years, they were followed up by questions whether the minors continue in criminal activities and what measures were imposed on them. Subsequent two questions should investigate whether a dysfunctional and incomplete family has an impact on the criminal activity and whether a peer group/gang influenced the committed offenses.
