Václavíková, Michaela ; Jüptner, Petr (advisor) ; Čopík, Jan (referee)
This thesis focuses on optimization of military estates in the Czech Republic that is connected both to establishment of new municipalities and transition from military administration to local administration. The thesis tries to describe the process itself being finished by setting settlement units aside from military estates, reduction of their borders and dissolution of the Brdy military estate. A case study of the Libavá Town is also a part of the thesis. The study is trying to monitor the impact of the transition mentioned above on civil population and on the newly established local administration. Three methods were used to collect the data - namely half structured interviews with chief participants, a survey amongst Libavá inhabitants and media monitoring. A part of the theoretical part is also an analysis of military estates in Europe whose characteristics and differences are also presented.

An educational project focused on the conservation biology effect of military areas
TOMANOVÁ, Martina
The objective of the thesis is to design an educational program focused on the issues of nature protection in military areas. Military districts and training grounds escaped intensive farming due to their early seizing by the army. For a long time, these areas have been the subject of a specific military regime (driving of track vehicles and wheeled vehicles, explosions of ammunition, digging of trenches etc.). Thanks to these disturbances, a unique and valuable nature remained preserved there. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to military areas and the impact of these disturbances on the landscape. The practical part of the thesis contains the proposal of an educational program for pupils of the 2nd grade elementary schools. The thesis also contains detailed instructions for individual activities, teaching materials for the teachers as well as worksheets. After the successful completion of the program, the participants get the basic information about the role of disturbances in the landscape and about the valuable nature of military districts.
