Atlas of Military Districts in the Czech Republic

The main objective of this bachelor's thesis is to design and create a thematic Atlas of military districts in the Czech republic, including a map key. A sub-objective is to perform an analysis of the portrayal of military districts in the Czech republic on maps of the Stable Cadastre, the 3rd military mapping, aerial photographs from the 1950s and the current orthophoto. At the beginning of the thesis, a literature search on military districts is carried out, which is a necessary starting point for the creation of the thematic part of the Atlas of military districts in the Czech republic. The theoretical part follows, where the definition of military districts and their development is presented. It also includes a description of the functioning military districts of Boletice, Březina, Hradiště and Libavá, focused on history, natural conditions and current military use of the territory. The next part is devoted to the analysis of portrayal of military districts on old maps and aerial photographs. In the practical part of the thesis, methods of creating the atlas are described, which is followed by a discussion and conclusions, where the results of the thesis are summarized and possible improvements and extensions are discussed.
