Physiotherapeutic methods after injuries in the area of ankle joint and foot
MOJCHEROVÁ, Andrea
The Bachelor paper aims to explore the issues of injuries affecting the area of ankle joint and foot. The paper is structured into several chapters, mutually related. The first describes the anatomy and kinesiology of the joint and foot, and the next one deals with injuries experienced in this area. Listed in the introductory chapters are the most frequent injuries to the joint and foot; included are their concise characteristics; and depicted the options of therapy. Then comes a chapter on comprehensive medical rehabilitation. The theoretical section of the paper terminates with a chapter on prevention, where the author concentrated on the use of taping, orthoses, bandages and braces helping to keep the ankle joint and foot properly fixed. The practical section of the paper relies on the method of qualitative research and the techniques of semi-standardized interview, observation (kinesiology examination), on processing the case studies and treating the data to secondary analyses. The set to be tested comprised four patients of different ages sustaining injuries to their ankle joints. Results achieved through the therapy are presented in the form of case studies. Each study addresses a short-time program of rehabilitation and describes the manner in which the program was applied in therapy. Thus the objective was met of preparing and implementing a physiotherapeutic program devised to restore the leg to its previous working order.
