The analysis of mental skills and mental training in professional tennis players

Abstract Title: The analysis of mental skills and mental training in professional tennis players Objectives: The purpose of this thesis is to determine and analyze the level of mental skills as well as elucidate which techniques from the field of mental training are used by professional tennis players. Methods: In this thesis, a qualitative type of research was used. A case study of seven professional tennis players was conducted in which the following methods were used: structured interview with open questions, participant observation and document analysis. Results: The final findings of this thesis are that top tennis players have different levels of mental skills. The results have proven that the higher a tennis player ranks, the better results were showed. Accordingly, players who are ranked higher than the 50th place according to the ATP ranking achieved significantly better results. Keywords: Mental skills, mental training

Title: Imagination and Self-Talk in Psychological Training of MMA Objectives: The main goal of this work is to summarize current literary knowledge in the field of self-talk and imagination and their connection with the needs of psychological training in MMA. Methods: Interpretation, summary and comparison of study results and theoretical knowledge. Results: Relationships between self-talk and imagination and MMA have been found. Their application can have a positive effect on managing anxiety, increase self-confidence and motivation, regulate current mental states and also increase the performance of athletes. Use of mental training by swimming coaches in the Czech Republic

Title: Use of mental training by swimming coaches in the Czech Republic Objectives: The goal of the work is to find out the use of mental training by swimming coaches in the Czech Republic, both in the training and in the competition. Furthermore, the work finds out which methods coaches apply the most in both areas. Methods: In our work we used the method of questionnaire survey. A modified Questionnaire Test of Performance Strategies * 2 (TOPS * 2) was used for the survey, which determines whether the coaches know the methods of mental training and how they include them in the psychological training of the swimmer. Results: We found that most coaches are educated in mental training. Mental training is used in training and competition only sometimes. In the competition is mental training used more often than in the training. In each part of the mental training, the trainers stated at least one method or skill that they apply to their wards or themselves. Keywords: swimming, mental training, TOPS * 2
