The main aim of this bachelor´s thesis is to project roof of Relax center in Brno and effectively use all structural elemnts. Basic building materials are glued laminated timber and solid timber, that improves interior ambience for visitors a lot. Big dimension of konstruction allows variability to place diverse water areas and attractions.

The aim of this bachelor thesis is a comparison of various woods and their influence on the load capacity of security fitting for entrance door. This thesis consists of a test of the maximal force required to pull out the screw. Based on this, a withdrawal capacity needed to pull the screws was established. Considering a recommendation of a manufacturer, special "window" screws which due to their reduced head fit well into the holes in the security fitting were used for experiment. The test was performed on the following woods: spruce, pine, larch and oak.

This thesis is focused on the new building of the nursery school, its construction solutions, specific land placement, and dispositional solutions regarding the cardinal directions. The dispositional building possibilities are further described in connection with various functional units such as barrier-free access, daylight lighting, acoustic, hygiene, and other respective input information. The information is further applied and described with use of specific nursery school solutions.

The aim of this diploma thesis is to design an interior element for plant growth. The theoretical part is focused on the requirements of plants in cultivation, the distribution of interior elements based on plants needs for the cultivation and the effect of plants on man and the environment. The last chapter of the theoretical part deals with the analysis of current trends and attractions in the field of cultivation. The practical part deals with the design process, which is in form of sketches, 3D visualizations, and paper models. The practical part is also focused on the selection of suitable materials and the technological procedure for prototype production. The result of the work is the visualization of the element for indoor plant growth, structural drawings and prototype in the scale of 1: 1, which will be introduced in the defense of work.

This thesis was focused on solid wood surface treatments. The goal of the thesis was to achieve superhydrophobic behavior of solid wood surface and its application on furniture design – bathroom furniture. In the first part of experiment the thesis dealt with plasma discharge surface treatment of 3 different wood species – larch (Larix decidua), oak (Quercus robur) and pine (Pinus sylvestris). These treatments were performed in atmospheric and inert (nitrogen) environment with different time of treatment. Effect of plasma discharge was evaluated by contact angle measurement. The second part of the experiment was focused on wax deposition on wooden samples with different roughness. The wax n-hexatriacontane is naturally found as a component of wax blends on the surface of plant leaves. The deposition was performed by physical evaporation in vacuum. This wax has a self-assembly ability, e.g. it creates 3D objects on the surfaces after deposition. The dependence of roughness on self-assembly and wettability in time were examined. Self-assembly ability was observed with scanning electron microscopy and confocal microscopy. Plasmatic treatment hasn´t led to increased hydrophobicity, nevertheless, a significant increase of hydrophilicity was observed during contact angle measurement which could be used as a preparation for surface coating. Surface treatment with wax has led to significant increase of hydrophobicity. Samples of larch and oak achieved superhydrophobic surface behavior (CA > 150°) and pine samples achieved highly hydrophobic behavior (CA > 140°).

The thesis is focused on a summarization of solid wood application possibilities in residential buildings, its history and specifics and a description of solid wood structural systems and architectural elements. There is a reference family house with maximum utilization of solid wood designed in the thesis, through which applications of solid wood in such buildings can be presented. A summary of these applications and their properties is created, too.

The thesis aims to explore the process of delamination on glued prism. It will be evaluated different types of wood (SM, DB) in combination with heat-treated wood (Thermowood TW). These materials will be exposed in an environment with high humidity. It will also be assessed shear strength test specimens, which will also be exposed to conditions of environment high humidity. Based on the measurement results will be evaluated different types of glue joints. They will vary in type and quantity of glue. The work is consisting of two parts. The first part deals with literature review on glueing of wood, thermal modification of wood and modern glued materials. The second part of the thesis is practical, which will be determined by the methodology of experiment and the subsequent testing. In this thesis will be displayed charts and graphs that will be evaluated at the end of work and commented for practical use in the company.

Subject of this thesis is to assess the quality, strength and durability of selected types of synthetic adhesives bonded prism EURODECK. As materials were selected native trees oak and beech. The main idea of this work was to determine the properties of glued blocks EURODECK in a moist environment when selecting these species. The work consists of theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part contains basic information and description of the bonded materials. The practical part consists of methodology, conducted the experiment and subsequent performance tests on a tensile tester storage and tempered in water bath. The work contains tables and graphs with measured values.
