Development of algorithm of imaging methods in diagnostic of knee joint in years 2001 - 2006 in University Hospital Motol
REDLICH, Peter
Knee joint is the biggest and the most complex joint of moving system. Its exceptionality embodies in difficult anatomical structure and static-dynamic function. Elongated human life and increased moving and sport activities lead to higher risk of knee joint injury. In monitored period (2001 {--} 2006), imaging methods of knee joint examinations experienced immense development which would continue in near future. Native skiagraphic examinations remain an inseparable part of algorithm of imaging methods. Though, methods without the use of ionizing radiation: magnetic resonance and ultrasound gain ground. In monitored period, the number of examinations with magnetic resonance markedly increased and continuation of this trend can be expected. That is especially because this method is noninvasive and the diagnostic yield is considerable. In 2001 to 2006, there were carried out totally 35 691 knee examinations for 23 602 667 points at total rate 21 006 565 Kč. Total number of native skiagraphic examinations is almost the same. I noted forceful growth of magnetic resonance examination in 2003 {--} 2006.The numbers of other examinations are without expressive changes. The total price of separate examinations is relatively the same but the total price of magnetic resonance examination is thanks to increasing number of examinations quite high. The results showed that despite of increasing number of magnetic resonance examinations, corresponding decrease of ionizing radiation examination doesn´t happen.
Demands on radiology assistants at three-dimension visualization
ČECH, Svatopluk
Fast development of three-dimension visualization in radiology relates to more sophisticated diagnostic machines, with the development of computer technology and digitizing. Increasing demands on radiology assistants in operating programs of reconstruction images increase the importance of their position at modern radiology workplace. Three-dimension images offer exact and undistorted images of patient's anatomy, they give better diagnostic information for physicians - radiologists and more objective imagination for physicians - clinicians. They find the application in a number of examinations in skiagraphy, angiography, computer tomography, magnetic resonance and ultrasonography. We can say that three-dimension visualization substitutes other examination which are invasive and represent certain complications for a patient. The question is whether some three-dimension examination can reduce radiation load of a patient. We can suppose that digital imaging methods will be part of near future and three-dimension visualization and further development of computer technique will acquire still more impact in diagnostic of many diseases.
Disturbing artifacts of radiodiagnostic modalities
ŠEDA, Miroslav
This work gives information on machines used for diagnostic imaging aimed to disturbing scan artefacts of chosen device (CT, MR, USG). Radiology assistant work still more depends on technique which helps in examination. The machines used for clients´ examination are thanks to IT development still more complicated. They allow high-quality and precious images, give more possibilities of treatment ways, save the client. Operating this technique is the domain of radiology assistants. Development without restrain leads to period when operating staff will work more independently. It is necessary for the radiology assistant to manage all steps in examinations which are undergone. He has to keep radiation protection and the quality of the image result as well. The result of most diagnostic examination in radiology department is image information. Image results can be from various reasons changed or deformed in comparison with the reality. Such distorted images can lead up to mistaken or late diagnosis by the physician. Radiology assistant is the first specialist who must be able to judge whether the examination has been done correctly or to warn the physician of possible variation or image deformation. Moderation or suppression of artefacts in image results in examination is easy in some cases. Then it is enough to explain the process of examination to the client and to emphasize how important is to cooperate with the staff. In some cases is technically impossible to impact the manifestation of artefacts as it results from the principle of examination method, or because of high financial costs unbearable for the health institute. In my work I aimed to image artefacts of machines (CT, MR, USG) which can be met in common clinical practice. I tried to document these image artefacts in common running. Part of my work is to describe the causes of artefacts appearance and the way how to avoid or remove their manifestation.
Comparison of important inflammantorymarkers during acute abdominal pains, problem of measurement using different equipment and the methods preventing flaws in determination
KAMEN, Petr
CMP is an illness that is presently the third most common reason for death and the number with this diagnosis is rising. That is why is very important to be interested in the problematic about the assessment and about devices, which are the most reliable in getting information about relevance of the illness. Among these modern discovery methods that decide about next patient treatment belong MR, CT, and SONO.
Diagnosis and endovascular treatment of iliac and femoropopliteal occlusive disease
PĚČKOVÁ, Kristýna
The occlusion disorder in the area pelvic and femoral arteries should be for the patient fatal health complication. Therefore it is important know all risks, which should go before, know the disorder and last but not least is a crucial chapter diagnostics and in final phase treatment. I chose this subject, with the view of give to pertinent readers all above - mentioned information on those problems. For diagnostics of occlusion disorder we use imaging radiodiagnostic methods. For spatial display were developed method of spiral CT angiography ( CTA ), magnetic resonance angiography ( MRA ), a modification of classical angiography {--} digital subtraction angiography ( DSA ) and ultrasonografi (UZ). UZ is part of the basic investigate method of his noninvazive. Spiral CTA is method, which is based on two and three dimensional display using special programmes. Display magnetic resonance is noninvasive examination procedure and is derived from classical nuclear MR. MRA is once from possible examination practice which serves complex information on relation surrounding weaving to vessels and haemodynamic blood flow. DSA allows observation of flow vessels and by the help of digitizing image its graphical processing. Medication of okluziv disorder areas saucepan s and femur s arterys including percutaneous transluminal angioplasty ( PTA ) and implantation stent.
Small bowel´s examination methods
NAGY, Markéta
Imaging methods play an essential role in the diagnostic algorithm by determining the disease character in any part of the human body. For the diagnostic small intestine diseases we use as classic X-ray methods as modern modalities. In introduce I mention history, morphology and physiology of small intestine. Than I describe summary about X-ray and non X-ray examination methods of small intestine (from basic methods to those special). Among basic examination methods of small intestine belong for example X-ray of abdomen, ultrasonography, passage throw small intestine and enteroclyse. Special examinations are CT enteroclyse, nuclear medicine examination, MR enteroclyse, angiography, enteroscopy and capsle endoscopy (CE). After compendium indications, contraindications, contrast agents and preparation patient for examination, in the finish of my work I worked up a collection of patient which were examined between the years 2002 {--} 2006 on our clinic {--} Institut of clinical and experimental medicine (IKEM), in Prague.
Conventional imaging procedure in radiology with a view to urogenital system (the education programe)
DVOŘÁČEK, Petr
In my work I concentrate on the basic examination methods for the urogenital system. It is about excretory urology (VUG), cystograph, cystouretrograph, retrograde uretrograph (ascending), histerosalpingograph (HSG), retrograde (ascending) pyelograph and antigrade (descending) pyelograph. Very detailed I describe the indication, the preparation and the follow through of the examinations. I am trying to compare non-invasive and invasive methods in the diagnosing of the urogenital system. I use the statistics of chosen hospitals in south of Czech Republic area in the time-span between 2000 and 2006. The modern radiodiagnostics methods together with the non-invasive and invasive methods in the diagnosing of the urogenital system still have non replaceable meaning in algorithm of the examinations in the urogenital system.

Various biocomatible scaffolds based on non-woven nanofibres (products of ELMARCO or Technical University Liberec), have been developed for bridging tissue defects and for use as 3D stem cell careiers.
Generace a detekce hyperpolarizovaného xenonu
Rychnovský, Jan ; Buchta, Zdeněk
We present the experimental results of generation and detection of hyperpolarized Xenon obtained by 4.7 T, 200 MHz magnetic resonance (MR) system. Xenon 129 was hyperpolarized by the spin-exchange with Rubidium pumped by extended cavity laser system based on a tunable high-power laser diode optimized for maximum efficiency of the optical pumping process. The application of the laser system is oriented to employment in an experimental arrangement for production of hyperpolarized gasses (HpG), namely Xenon. It is designed to operate in medical and industrial applications to come.
