Characteristics and application of logistics processes in the company

This thesis deals with the characteristics of logistics and its application in a selected company. The main objective of this thesis is to characterize logistics activities and to evaluate them on the basis of a set of indicators. The data was collected using several methods, including direct observation, direct participation in operations, data analysis, ABC method and guided interview with selected company personnel. The main task is to elaborate and analyse the logistics activities and define a set of indicators on the basis of which the evaluation of these activities is carried out. The defined indicators include supplier ratings, frequency of goods orders, delivery time, volume of returned goods, stock utilization, volume of stocked goods, delivery time to customers, complaints, % of customer satisfaction. Based on the findings, measures to improve the current process are proposed at the end of this thesis, which relate to the identification of inventory and saving staff time. As part of the proposal, it was also recommended to monitor new indicators such as quality of service and order fulfilment rate.
