The quaternary systems containing lithium salts will be studied as solid electrolytes in lithium-ion batteries and the ternary systems will be combined with carbon powders of high surface area to form supercapacitors.

For lithium-ion batteries and supercapacitors, acrylates, aprotic solvents and 1-methylimidazole based ionic liquids were combined to form polymer electrolytes. Their electrochemical and mechanical properties were studied. Excellent electrochemical stability (4.3 - 4.6 V) and good conductivity (1 mS/cm) was observed.
