In this work, I managed to optimize in vitro method of static migration of neutrophils. This method included isolation of the neutrophils, specifically optimizing the concentrations of the individual layers of the Percoll gradient and identifying the optimal concentration of fMLP to stimulate neutrophil migration. This optimized method was used to test the effect of five tick protease inhibitors, from Ixodes ricinus saliva on neutrophil migration.
