NĚMCOVÁ, Michaela
This bachelor thesis is developed on the topic of disposal of an active shooter. The aim of the work is to evaluate the readiness of the Police of the Czech Republic for an attack of an active shooter and also the functioning of the cooperation of the components of the integrated rescue system during the intervention. To assess whether preventive measures for soft targets are sufficient. Finding out whether the professional and lay public is aware of the procedure of defense and rescue when attacked by an active shooter. The theoretical part defines the basic concepts important for the domain of the active shooter and then the psychological analysis of the active shooter himself. A separate chapter discusses the last largest attack of an active shooter in the Czech Republic, which took place at the University Hospital Ostrava. I dwell on the polemic of a legally held weapon and its influence in defense. In the next chapters, I focus on the readiness of the Police of the Czech Republic, especially on the first-line patrols, and finally on the actual intervention of the IRS units at the scene of the active shooter's attack. To achieve the above - mentioned goals, two research questions were compiled, which were answered by means of a questionnaire survey. The benefit of the bachelor's thesis is, first of all, finding out the problems with first-line patrols, finding their shortcomings and their possible solutions, evaluating the security of schools in the Rokycany district and finding out whether citizens are aware of an active shooter attack.
