Integration of childern raised outside the family in society
PEŘINOVÁ, Eva
This diploma thesis called Integration of children raised outside the family into society deals with life stories of young adults who left a children's home. The main aim of the thesis is to find out the fates of young people who are leaving susbsitute family care. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and empirical. In the theoretical part of the thesis is decribed the issue of family from its typology, functionality and remediation. It also deals with the system of substitute family care, including institutional care and its pittfalls, leaving institutional care and related problems in entering independent life. Briefly, there are also described projects facilitating the integration of young individuals into society when they are leaving institutonal care. The empirical part of the thesis was processed by qualitative method of questioning, using the technique of narrative interview. The research group consisted of ten adults who grew up in a children's home in the South Bohemian Region and have experience of leaving the children's home. Data were processed using ATLAS.ti software, open coding and subsequent data categorization was performed. Research has shown that young people leaving a children's home at a very young age have difficulty entering independent life, especially in the areas of finance, employment, housing and social networking. Despite the preparation that takes place in a children's home, it is difficult for them to succeed at such a young age outside the children's home without the support of someone close to them that could help them to solve difficult and everyday worries. The diploma thesis could serve the general public interested in this issue because it contains a brief outline of theoretical information. It could be also used as an information source for organizations with this target group, as it maps the basic problems and needs of this target group.
