TRÁZNÍK, Jan
This bachelor thesis is focused on the use of the rope suspension in the air rescue service throughout Czech Republic. In the chapter The Current State, the reader first gets acquainted with the air rescue service - its definition, history and present. He or she finds out that the air rescue service has been serving people in Czech Republic for more than 20 years and that it plays indispensable role in saving human lives nowadays. In this chapter, the reader also becomes familiar with standardized composition of the helicopter crew. Use of the rope suspension belongs to special activities of the air rescue service, which requires certain qualificatory requirements for the helicopter crew. In the context of this fact, terms air ambulance paramedic and air ambulance paramedic - swimmer are clarified in this thesis. The rope suspension is described in terms of its definition, history, equipment necessary for its installation, by means of the transport equipment applicable to the rope suspension, indication of the intervention with the rope suspension and rescue in an inaccessible terrain. Due to the fact that the rescue of persons while using the rope suspension does not belong to routine activities of air rescue services, but among special activities, all stations of the air rescue service in Czech Republic do not have the option of this kind of intervention available. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to map the situation throughout Czech Repbublic in the field of indications to the take-off, and to develop a comprehensive summary of options of the use of the air rescue services for the rescue of people in an inaccessible and hardly accessible terrain while using the rope suspension. At the same time, the goal is to find out the extent to which individual stations of the air rescue service are ready to perform this special activity. The research question of this thesis is: Are individual stations of the air rescue service in Czech Republic ready for efficient use of the rope suspension? The qualitative research was applied in this thesis. Data were obtained by a questionnaire, which was sent to representatives of all ten regional centers of the air emergency service throughout whole Czech Republic. Questions in the questionnaire were built up in order to find out, which stations of the air rescue service were active in carrying out the rescue of persons from the inaccessible terrain by using the rope suspension, how the stations were equipped for these special activities, personnel and technically, how the staff working there was selected and trained, what was the character of the terrain, where the rope suspension was most frequently used during the intervention, the frequency of interventions of the staff while using the rope suspension, how the stations were satisfied with this way of saving human lives, eventually what would they want to change. In the chapter Results, there are evaluated answers to individual questions from the questionnaire. Results of the work are processed by the data analysis and subsequent synthesis. The results revealed a level of preparedness of all ten stations of the air emergency service in Czech Republic to implement special activities, specifically the use of the rope suspension during the intervention in an inaccessible and hardly accessible terrain, eventually other options during the everyday operation. The results showed that out of the total number of ten stations, six were technically equipped, and four stations were not equipped for the transport from an inaccessible terrain while using the rope suspension. At all stations, which carry out special activities, serves specially-trained team, which has to be regularly trained.
