Shifts in the media debates on Autonomous social center Klinika
Knapp, Matouš ; Lehečková, Eva (advisor) ; Adam, Robert (referee)
(in English): The thesis analyzes two media discourse texts about the Autonomous Social Centre Klinika. It focuses on revealing key topics, argumentation analysis and discursive practices of each individual party and on the evaluation of the potential development in the time period between the first and second text. The analysis is mainly based on the Discourse-Historical Approach (Ruth Woodak and Martin Reisigl) which views the discourse as a complex social phenomenon and it also includes a study of context (historical, social, ideological). The subjects of the analysis are discursive texts, both are radio shows - one from Radio Plus - Pro a proti (february 2015) and the other from Odpolední Plus (march 2016). Their format provides the analysis of the standpoint of each party in mutual interaction. The analysis emphasizes on the self- identification of the speakers, nominations, predictions, topics and close discourses, and finally in the conclusion on the argumentation itself. The thesis shows in detail that the discourse has much in common with legal discourse and political discourse. The conflict between individual parties is profound and a distinctive element of the argumentation is the comparison with the time period during the communist regime.
