The road of Poland to the euro area

This thesis is dedicated to the evaluation of Poland's readiness to join the euro area. The evaluation is based on an analysis of real and nominal convergention. Next part of the thesis is the convergention strategy of Poland for the years 2008-2010 and the timetable for adoption of euro. In the theoretical part it describes the basic characteristics of economic and monetary union, evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of the adoption of common currency and the Maastricht criteria. Next, the thesis evaluates the current state of implementation of convergence criteria i Poland. Poland meets the nominal convergence criteria except for participation in ERM II., but forecasts for the future indicates a deterioration of others criteria.
Road to Common Currency - Comparsion of the Czech Republic ans Slovenia

This work summarizes readiness of the Czech Republic for addoption of common currency euro. It describes the history of common European currency in the first chapter and economic and monetary union in second chapter. The fourth chapter analyzes the fulfillment of Maastricht convergence criteria in the Czech Republic in comparison to Slovenia. The last chapter focuses on the fulfillment of the optimum currency area criteria in these countries
The preparation of the new EU Member States for entering the Eurozone

This diploma thesis deals with the preparation of the two EU Member States, namely Czech Republic and Slovakia, for joining the euro area. The first part briefly describes the formation of the Economic and Monetary Union. The core part lies in the assessment and in the comparison of both states regarding the fulfillment of the criteria for adoption of the single currency. The detailed analysis is focused mostly on the nominal and the real convergence.

In the first chapter the thesis deals with the historical process of formation of the EU and EMU, in the other words euro area. Second chapter shows us the nominal and real analysis of convergence of Czech republic and Slovakia to the average of the EU 27 and former EU 15. Following chapters are about the process of ingression of Czech republic and Slovakia firstly to the EU and nowadays to the euro area. The aim of the thesis is to compare the process of the integration in these countries.
Pro and con acceptance Euro - application on the Czech Republic

The aim of this work is to appraise advantages and disadvantages of accepting EURO, in Czech Republic, which has already taken steps in order to join the EMU. The first part focus on the establishment and development of the EMU and about requirements, which have to be fulfilled by the countries, which are supposed to become members of the EMU. Afterwards, I would like to speak about pros and cons associated with this membership and consequently, I will analyse consequences caused by acceptance of a single currency. With regard to previous theory and experience of the EMU members, the second part is adressed to the Czech Republic. Except from analysis of current economic factors, which are important when talking about accepting the EURO, I will mention opinions and positions of the leaders of the main political parties and alternative institutions. Then, I will compare the Czech Republic with other countries, that are adepts for accepting common currency. Finally, I will put together the benefits and costs associated with single currency and I will make adequate conclusions on the basis of previous analysis.
Czech Republic in the process of monetary integration

Česká republika za několik let vstoupí do Evropské hospodářské a měnové unie. Tato práce je zaměřena především na předvstupní období, během kterého bude muset ČR dosáhnout uspokojivých výsledků v hospodářské oblasti a také se na přijetí eura připravit po stránce technicko-organizační. Před vstupem bude muset ČR dosáhnout určitého stupně vývoje v oblasti nominální konvergence s ohledem na plnění Maastritských kritérií a ani oblast konvergence reálné by neměla být opomenuta. Národní koordinační skupina pracuje v současné době na shrnutí úkolů ve všech oblastech národního hospodářství, které je třeba provést, aby přijetí eura proběhlo bez problémů.
Implementation of the fiscal convergence criteria Visegrad Group countries, with an emphasis on Czech Republic

Diplomová práce se zabývá plněním fiskálních konvergenčních kritérií zeměmi Visegrádu, přičemž důraz je kladen na stav provádění reforem veřejného sektoru. Je zhodnocen vývoj deficitů veřejných financí a veřejného zadlužení v posledních deseti letech. Práce vzájemně porovnává přístupy Česka, Slovenska, Polska a Maďarska k přijímání společné měny a dosud dosažené výsledky a naznačuje možné směry budoucího vývoje.
Perspektivy přijetí společné měny euro v České republice

Práce se zabývá problémem vstupu České republiky do eurozóny, zejména otázkami kdy a jakým způsobem Česká republika společnou měnu přijme. Rozebírá postoj České republiky i hodnocení orgánů Evropské unie. Hlavní téma doplňují informace o historii společné evropské měny a o procesu zavedení eura v nových členských státech Evropské unie. Práce také nastiňuje předpokládané efekty zavedení eura v České republice.
ERM II systém a ČR

Práce se zabývá otázkou připravenosti České republiky na přijetí jednotné měny euro, respektive otázkou připravenosti na vstup do mechanismu směnných kurzů ERM II (Exchange rate mechanism). Zabývá se historií evropské měnové integrace a ustanovením Maastrichtských konvergenčních kritérií a jejich dodržováním. V rámci konvergenčních kritérií hodnotí na základě Konvergenční zprávy dosavadní výsledky plnění kritérií jak Českou republikou tak ostatními členskými státy, které usilují o vstup do ERM II. Dále rozebírá mechanismu ERM II jak z historického hlediska, tak z procedurálního hlediska a také z pohledu zemí, které se tohoto mechanismu již zúčastnily a nebo jsou právě jeho součástí. Snaží se nastínit možná rizika, která by mohla vyplynout z pobytu koruny v tomto mechanismu, jakožto mechanismu fixování zúčastněné měny na euro v rámci tzv.fluktuačního pásma
Výhody a nevýhody či rizika fungování Evropské měnové unie

Tato práce pojednává o Evropské měnové unii a s ní související společné měně. V práci je popsán historický proces měnové integrace v Evropě. Je zaměřena především na vliv, který mělo přijetí eura na národní ekonomiky jednotlivých členů v Evropské unii. Hodnotí přínosy a náklady, které vytvoření měnové unie přineslo. Zároveň zde nechybí rozebrání některých specifických problémů, jež by mohly představovat možná rizika pro budoucnost dalšího procesu integrace. V závěru se práce zaměřuje na problematiku konvergenčních kritérií a s ní související krizi Paktu stability a růstu.
