Death and Resurrection in Tolkien´s Essay "On Fairy-Stories" and in Traditional Fairy Tales
HOLEJŠOVSKÁ, Kateřina
At first, in the theoretical part of my bachelor's work, I explain the key concept of "resurrection" in both Christian and pagan contexts. Further, I occupy myself with Tolkien's essay "On Fairy-Stories", in which he, besides other things, deals with the main functions of fairy tales, which are recovery, escape and consolation. Afterwards, I pay attention to the rites of passage, related to life, death, and resurrection. In the practical part, I devote myself to the analysis of classical fairy tales in the context of the knowledge acquired in the first part of the work.
The influence of classical fairy tales on the development of the psyche and the artistic expression of a child in preschool and younger school age
JAROŠOVÁ, Dominika
This bachelor thesis deals with the influence of authentic fairy tales on the psychological and artistic development of a child of preschool and younger school age. The theoretical part of the thesis contains three main chapters. The first chapter presents the specifics of evolutionary psychology, the second chapter deals with the ontogenesis of artistic expression and the last part focuses on the history of the fairy tale and its classification. The practical part includes a selection of watercolors showing the authentic fairy tale. Qualitative research contains artistically interpreted authentic fairy tales prepared by kindergarten children and primary school children, following by artistically and ontogenetically analysis with a possible overlap into the interpretive basis. This part of the research also contains a semi-structured interview with the authors of artistically interpreted fairy tales, followed by the final evaluation.
