Ryšavá, Denisa ; Beneš, Zdeněk (advisor) ; Petráček, Tomáš (referee)
The thesis is devoted to the fate of the Jews who lived in Kroměříž - the same fate that all the Jews in Protectorate Bohemia and Moravia suffered in the course the World War II. The beginning of the thesis discusses the history and development of the local Jewish residents and their culture. Most of the thesis is however dedicated to the 1930s and the beginning of the 1940s, i.e. the time of the First, and the Second Republic, as well as the Protectorate. A part of the thesis is also devoted to the Jewish sites of historical interest, most of which were sadly destroyed by the Nazi regime. Last but not least, the thesis discusses the return of the Jews, renewal of the Jewish community after 1945, its development, and also describes how to follow the legacy of the Jews from Kroměříž and recall or imagine how big the community was at that time. Monuments of the Jewish Settlement in Heřmanův Městec
BURSOVÁ, Petra
In my thesis I´m dealing with preserved Jewish relics in Heřmanův Městec, the Chrudim region. First of all I just briefly mention the organization of Jewish community in Czech territory, then I examine and search Jewish settlement in Heřmanův Městec from its beginnings until today. Among still standing sights I name especially the synagogue, which was many times destructed. Thanks to the extensive reconstruction it could again come into service, but nowdays it only serves as a cultural tabernacle. Next preserved relic is the building of Jewish school located at close quarters of the synagogue and it´s much newer. Last but not the least I mention the old cemetery, which belongs to the oldest and the largest ones in the Czech Republic. This Jewish dominant feature of Heřmanův Městec is nowdays under the administration of the Jewish Community in Prague.
