Implementation and development of the Internet in the Czech Republic
Gažda, Matěj ; Hlaváček, Jiří (advisor) ; Wohlmuth, Petr (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to map the beginnings of the Internet in the Czech Republic, i.e. its implementation and development from the beginning of the 1990s (the first connection to international computer networks) to the turn of the millennium, when there is an exponential growth of the Internet in the Czech republic. The research is primarily based on the oral history method, the narrators are people that were at the beginning of the implementation of this technology. This thesis also describes the beginnings of important organizations managing certain aspects of the Czech Internet, the commercialization of the Internet, and an example of the development of a metropolitan network. The work is supplemented with historical documents and articles. For a broader context, the origin and development of the Internet itself is described here, with its subsequent expansion into Europe. There is no comprehensive description of the development of this important technology in the Czech republic. The thesis tries to change this fact.

Case law of the CJEU and Czech courts on the use of works on the Internet Abstract This thesis deals with the issue of the use of copyright works on the Internet and its aim is to compile an overview of the most relevant case law on the subject and to analyse it in appropriate sections. Systematically, it consists of three main chapters. The first is of an introductory, general nature and focuses on the interpretation of the basic concepts of copyright in general and the question of authorship. In the second chapter, the author focuses on the institutes and the European and Czech legislation in force on the use of copyright works, which is viewed through a rather general prism. Already here, however, the Internet aspect of the problem is gradually emphasized and, to increase the reader's comfort, references to previous or subsequent parts are made extensively throughout the work. The sometimes neglected institute of public licenses and open source software is also given prominence. This is followed by a battery of specific uses of copyright works...
Digital technologies - development of instructional materials for Grade 6-9 students
Šmíd, Radek ; Brom, Cyril (advisor) ; Černochová, Miroslava (referee)
In 2023, a revision of the Czech national curriculum came into force. The main change was the replacement of the educational area "information and communi- cation technologies" with "computer science". The new curriculum was supported by new educational materials. However, few of these were devoted to the "digital technologies" part of the curriculum. In this thesis we have created new mate- rials that fill this gap. Specifically, we created four worksheets that explain the structure and principles of the Internet. The sheets can, for example, be handed out to students or printed as a poster. The validation of the didactic qualities of the sheets was carried out in two phases: individual interviews and classroom testing. During the first phase, we interviewed fifteen pupils (ISCED-2). The stu- dents first described what they saw using the think aloud method. Then they were questioned about information contained in the sheets. We used the transcripts of the pupils' interviews to improve the clarity of the materials. During the second phase, classroom testing was conducted by giving the finished sheets to a sample of 92 students (age 11-14) to study (20 minutes). We tested students' knowledge using pre and post tests. Statistical analysis of the results revealed a positive effect of studying the sheets on...
