The thesis' major goal is to identify important factors and key aspects of cultural differences and management work in a diverse environment for managers. The partial goal is the identification of the obstacles and barriers managers need to face and overcome in a multicultural environment. The goals are achieved using qualitative research in the form of individual online interviews with co-owners, managers, and employees of a selected company. The manager gets in touch the most frequently with language obstacles and barriers, which cause misunderstandings due to different views. The recommendations are to improve knowledge of language and cultural differences (a list of cultural differences is attached in the appendix), improve effective communication in teams, learn and try to understand, adapt rather than judge, and prioritize cooperation over competition. Because of the reducing importance of borders between nations and among economics the contact among members of different cultures in personal and work life is still more frequent and intensive. In the order to be efficient in cooperation with individuals from different cultural environment it is necessary to understand each other, capture the way of partner's thinking and behavior, forbearance and knowledge of cultural specifics. Therefore, I will further analyze the key factors to virtual team functioning, among which we can include modern communication technologies, the issue of communication over distance and trust. I will also describe strongly dispersed virtual teams, which must deal with multiculturality and other concerns associated with distinct cultural values of individual team members. The last chapter will cover conflict resolution, which is a key point especially within the topic of virtual teams.
