Inkjet prints ageing by ozone and light
Pasečná, Klára ; Jančovičová, Viera (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This thesis is focused on the effect of ozone on ink-jet prints. The knowledge about print technologies, materials for ink-jet printing, influence of environmental factors on the prints degradation and the methods of print lifetime estimation are discussed in the theoretical part of the thesis. Test-charts of 108 samples of C, M, Y primary colours and their overprints were prepared. I used two types of papers designed for ink-jet printing. These samples were exposed the effect of ozone in various concentrations to perform an accelerated aging experiment. Optical density values, La*b* coordinates, colour difference values were calculated from the measured spectral data. Changes of colours of the ink due to ozone exposure were determined and discussed. The validity of the reciprocal law due to ozone exposure was studied, too. The reciprocal behaviour was not confirmed for both types of the studied papers.
Dielectric layers fabricated by material printing
Olejníková, Marie ; Pekárková, Jana (referee) ; Dzik, Petr (advisor)
This master‘s thesis deals with the use of the material printing method for fabrication of dielectric films. Final high- dielectric composite film consisted of BaTiO3 based inkjet-printed layer and spin-coated polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) layer. The effect of ball-milling on BaTiO3 suspension was studied by DLS a XRD methods. Printing formulation and parameters of inkjet printing were optimized with respect to the surface morphology of printed BaTiO3 films using contact profilometry method. Impedance analysis was used to determine the value of effective dielectric constant of the final dielectric composite film using thin film capacitor structure. Effective dielectric constant of composite dielectric film was 4,9 ± 0,4.
Kinetics of Inkjet Dyes Degradation
Buteková, Silvia ; Mikula, Milan (referee) ; Klusoň, Petr (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
The stability of inkjet print is influenced by a lot of factors. Mutual effects of these factors accelerate the print degradation. The surrounding environment in image stability plays an important role, when the prints degrade especially by the light. The degradation of inkjet prints is presented as a decrease of dye or multiple dyes. It is necessary to know the dye concentration for the dye decrease prediction in the time. This dissertation thesis deals with the study of kinetics and changes in electron and molecular structure of digital photography prints after accelerated ageing tests. The study of resistance of inkjet prints was realized on one type of media using three different sets of inks. Changes in printed colours were measured and evaluated in calibration (by PLS calibration and least squares method). On the basis of calibration the dye decrease prediction of real samples in receiving layer was evaluated. Changes in electron and molecular structure were analysed on KBr pellets by FTIR an UV-Vis spectroscopy.
Lightfastness of inkjet prints
Buteková, Silvia ; Čeppan, Michal (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
The stability of inkjet print is influenced by a lot of factors. Just the surrounding environment in image stability plays an important role. When the prints fade, not only this does occur by light exposure, but also considerable effect has relative humidity, ozone and other air pollutants. The types of receiving layers or ink composition belong to other factors, which affect the stability of prints. This diploma thesis deals with the long-term ageing of digital prints produced by ink jet technology. The study of resistance of inkjet prints was realized on nine different types of media. Samples were prepared with use of dye-based and pigment-based inks. The attention was especially focused on the influence of light on print durability, but study was also oriented on the impact of ozone. The samples were exposed to the indoor daylight. Changes in printed colours were measured and evaluated in colorimetric quantities. In this study of inkjet prints degradation the dependence of colour gamut volumes on UV and VIS exposure dose was evaluated.
Catalytic fading of inkjet prints
Brablc, Tomáš ; Havlínová,, Bohuslava (referee) ; Veselý, Michal (advisor)
This thesis deals with the principles of inkjet printing, ink composition, receiving layers and print fading. The fading usually does not take place only for one reason, it is affected by more factors at a time. The catalytic fading due to light is studied. The catalytic fading takes place in overprinted areas where are situated more then one ink. The experiment was realized by the exposure of overprinted fields in accelerated ageing test. Mutual influence of two dyes from CMY together and then influence of black dye (K) on these overprinted fields were observed.

Tieto boli vyrobené s využitím bežnými tlačiarenských techník (atramentová tlač a sieťotlač) spolu so štandardnými litografickými postupmi. Najnovšie nami vyvinuté zariadenia dosahujú najväčšieho zosílením signálu, g = 2,5 mS a časovú konštantu t = 0,15 s. Tieto zariadenia sú porovnateľné, často dokonca lepšie ako niektoré iné najmodernejšie a plne litograficky pripravené senzory.

Lightfastness of digital color prints
Kulhánková, Michaela ; Jančovičová, Viera (referee) ; Dzik, Petr (advisor)
In this diploma thesis the current methods of color fastness evaluation of color digital prints were solved. The theoretical part provides basic information needed to understand the experiment. Samples of inkjet prints were subjected to accelerated and long-term lightfastness test. The long-term test took place in the spaces of the Faculty of Chemistry, Brno University of Technology, which fulfilled the condition of direct light in a closed room. For one year, samples were exposed and their reflection spectra were measured at monthly intervals. An accelerated lightfastness test was performed in a solar chamber with a xenon lamp. Only some samples were selected for this test because of the small space in the chambre and thw failure of the instrument. At regular intervals were measured again their reflection spectra from which the colorimetric values were calculated. After completion of the testing, the rate parameter was determined from the dependence of the loss of the normalized gamut volume on different doses of irradiation. In the case of long-term testing, it was based on data from the Hydrometeorological Institute, which gave values of direct outdoor solar radiation. In the accelerated test, the irradiation dose of the sample up to 800 nm was determined. Finally, the lightfastness of each sample was examined and compared with each other and the relevance of the accelerated test was assessed.
