Klepáčková, Kristýna ; Zicha, Zbyněk (advisor) ; Dvořáková, Michaela (referee)
The diploma thesis on the topic of Cognitive processes in the teaching of civic education at elementary school deals with how the topic of cognitive processes, especially perception and memory, is realized within the framework of civic education. Its goal is to find out under what conditions and by what methods is this topic currently being taught. The part of the thesis devoted to psychological issues focuses on the historical development of psychology, the characteristics of perception and memory. An essential part of the work is the explanation of these two key psychological concepts and at the same time introducing the main psychological disciplines, applied fields and leading representatives who dealt with these basic physiological principles. The didactic part is focused on the so-called functional psychological literacy. I will focus on the inclusion of cognitive processes in the Framework Education Program and, based on the analysis of textbooks, listening to civics lessons and interviews with teachers at primary school, I will find out how and by what methods the subject of these cognitive processes is currently taught. At the end of my diploma thesis, I propose methods for teaching psychology, specifically perception and memory in elementary school, thanks to which students can better...
Life of a patient after surgical treatment for malignant tumors of skin
KOLDOVÁ, Miroslava
Abstract: This thesis deals with lives of patients after surgical treatment for malignant skin tumours. The goal of the thesis: To find out how patients perceive their lives after surgical treatment for malignant skin tumours. To find out how patients are informed on regimen measures after surgical treatment for malignant skin tumours.Methodology and the sample set: Research questions were set on the basis of the chosen goals. How do patients perceive their lives after a surgical excision of a malignant skin tumour? How are patients informed on regimen measures after surgical treatment for malignant skin tumours? I chose a qualitative research strategy for the accomplishment of my survey, where the technique of semi-structured interviews was used for the data collection. The sample set consisted of 12 patients, who had undergone surgical treatment for malignant skin tumours. The patients were intentionally addressed by means of Facebook. The obtained information was processed by means of the paper-and-pencil method. Results: The survey has revealed that in their today's lives the patients feel limitation within the protection against the sun's UV radiation, which hampers them from their activities to the fullest. Their life values have changed and the perception of their own bodies deviated, they moreover fight permanent fear from the disease relapse. We have also found out that patients are insufficiently informed on regime measures, which is often caused by lack of time, empathy and willingness to give information on the side of healthcare staff. The ascertainment of these facts led me to preparation of an informational leaflet, which, apart from being useful for patients, can also serve as a complementary source of information for healthcare staff. Recommendations for the practice: I recommend that the issue of providing information and education in the care about patients with malignant skin disease should be included in the education for nurses. Recommendation of mutual cooperation with patients' family members is suitable.
The possibilities of home care from the perspective of nurses and the general public
PEŇÁSOVÁ, Petra
This bachelor thesis is focused on the awareness of nurses and the general public about the services of home health care agencies. The work is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. The theoretical part includes the issue of home care and the characteristics of the role of nurses in home care. The results obtained in the research investigation are processed and evaluated in the practical part. Four objectives have been chosen for the bachelor thesis which focus on the awareness of nurses and the general public about the possibilities of home care. The research part was divided into four groups. First two groups were focused on nurses, where nurses from inpatient sectors were in the first group of respondents and nurses from outpatient sectors were in the second group. The other two groups were aimed at the general public, with the third group of respondents being the general public and the fourth group being clients currently treated by a home care agency. To meet the objectives, a semi-structured interview was chosen which included eighteen questions for nurses and twelve questions for patients. It is evident from the results focused on the group of nurses, that only nurses who are directly involved in the process, have detailed information about home care options. Furthermore, in the inpatient wards, nurses perceives lack of time and unresolved contractual relations with insurance companies as major barriers in the process of referring clients to home care agencies. From the results aimed at a group of the general public who have never personally encountered the service, awareness is very marginal. In contrast, clients treated by a home care agency have a greater awareness. Submitted thesis provides a better understanding of home care, identifies gaps in awareness among nurses and the general public, highlights the problems encountered during the collaboration between the home care agency and the referring facility.
Biblioverse - Multifunctional building with library
Dříve byly informace nedostatkovým zbožím a přístup ke vzdělanosti výsadou nepočetných společenských vrstev, úzce spjatých s mocí. Osvícenství a průmyslová revoluce přinesly v druhé polovině 19. stol. politické a technologické změny v šíření informací, které stále akcelerují. Strojní tisk novin a knih, vlak, telegraf a později telefon, jako předskokani digitálního šíření informací umožňily transportovat informace v množství a rychlostech do té doby nepředstavitelných.
Disclosure discrimination: an experiment focusing on communication in the hiring process
Badalyan, S. ; Korlyakova, Darya ; Rehák, Rastislav
We focus on communication among hiring team members and document the existence of discrimination in the disclosure of information about candidates. In particular, we conduct an online experiment with a nationally representative sample of Czech individuals who act as human resource assistants and hiring managers in our online labor market. The main novel feature of our experiment is the monitoring of information flow between human resource assistants and hiring managers. We exogenously manipulate candidates’ names to explore the causal effects of their gender and nationality on information that assistants select for managers. Our findings reveal that assistants disclose more information about family and less information about work for female candidates relative to male candidates. An in-depth analysis of the disclosed information suggests that gender stereotypes play an important role in this disclosure discrimination. Furthermore, assistants disclose less information about foreigners overall. This effect appears to be driven by the less attention assistants are willing to devote to the CVs of foreigners, measured by the extra effort to learn more about the candidates.
Cyberspace and information security
Ramešová, Kristina ; Pomahač, Richard (advisor) ; Frumarová, Kateřina (referee) ; Košťál, Vratislav (referee)
Cyberspace and information security Abstract The dissertation deals with information security in cyberspace and cybersecurity. Within the academic community the topic is rather neglected, even though cybersecurity may be seen as a pillar-stone for the undisturbed performance of public administration. The thesis deals with the topic in broader theoretical and practical contexts. Technological changes in society have major influence on legal regulation and practice. Because of that, the first part of the thesis focuses on the key social changes related to digital revolution and globalization, on the values of the information society and on the principles of cybersecurity regulation, as well as on the issues regarding the applicability of law within cyberspace. The second part of the thesis discusses the role of public power in safeguarding the information security in cyberspace. The concepts of cyber defence and cybersecurity are discussed. The concept of information security is presented through the confidentiality, integrity and availability components. The international element is addressed with the perspective of selected rules of the second version of Tallinn Manual. In particular, the problems of attribution of cyber operations, reverse hacking (hack-back) or circumstances precluding wrongfulness of...
Disinformation as a security threat in the Czech information space in connection with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic
HŘEBEČEK, Jan
The thesis deals with the problem of disinformation news in the Czech information space, with attention paid to disinformation in connection with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The aim of the thesis was to identify selected disinformation that appeared in the Czech information space in connection with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and to put them in context, to examine the impact of disinformation messages, the dangers of underestimating them, and to answer the research question what impact disinformation had in the Czech information space in connection with the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. To achieve the objective, a quantitative research strategy was chosen and implemented through a questionnaire survey focused on the spread of disinformation news, the viewership and credibility of selected disinformation media in the context of other media, mass forwarded emails, attitudes towards disinformation news and sources of information in the society-wide context. The research sample consisted of 511 respondents from the Faculty of Health and Social Sciences, University of South Bohemia. The results uncovered some gaps in the aforementioned areas of research, even though students are being prepared to provide work, care and services in many areas of health care facilities and beyond, and medical, biological, natural science and advanced nursing and scientific knowledge is an important line of study for them. Nearly one-third of respondents (29%) agreed with more than one misinformation question. Further, 74% of respondents agreed that someone in their environment has changed behaviors or attitudes because of misinformation related to the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus pandemic. At the same time, exactly 30% of the respondents show a certain level of vulnerability in terms of succumbing to the effects of misinformation messages, as they are unable to recognise misinformation or to express themselves clearly on the issue. Due to the combination of vulnerability, following society-wide events mainly on online networks and in TV, their age and social status, the possibility of succumbing to radicalisation is several times higher than in the rest of society. Therefore, the above findings in this thesis are an important finding that should start receiving much more attention than it has so far. The thesis is aimed primarily at the professional community and offers a relatively comprehensive view of the issue.
